My Chance of a Lifetime

Jun 15, 2012 21:58

It’s been several days since I returned from my great QAF adventure in Cologne and it’s still hard to absorb it all and believe that it really happened. It’s the greatest experience I have ever had in my 12 years in the fandom and if I never have another it will be okay ( Read more... )

Wow, Miss Dixie! This is quite the report!
You have made me proud! LOL!

I have been living vicariously though all the wonderful reports, and pictures and videos that have been coming out of the Convention. And in every one you can just feel the love that was obviously in very, very large supply!

I am SO happy you had such a wonderful time!

P.S. We tried for tickets to Elephant Man too. We had already booked a hotel and got tickets to see Edith at BTG, so we're going to go anyway and maybe try for rush tickets.

Thanks again for sharing your experience with us!

Hey girl,

I can just imagine the report you could have made. I meant to take notes but gave up because I didn't want to miss anything so this is just from my poor memory. I didn't even take many pictures because I knew there would be lots of better ones out there and again I didn't want a camera between me and them.

I hope you get to see Elephant Man. I doubt I will fly there and rent a car on the outside chance that I get a ticket.

Thea called me Miss Dixie too.

Kin,

It took me the better part of a day to gather my thoughts. I made some notes on my long layover in Newark on the way home from Dusseldorf.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for posting all the many pictures. So many who couldn't go can enjoy them and feel some of what we all felt to be in the presence of such a wonderful group of people.

Thanks Morph,

So many times I thought of Katy and wished she was there with me. She would have been so excited and happy. I thought of the two of you at the Paley so many years ago and this was my chance to see them all together for the first time. Though I surely was saddened that Gale couldn't make it, I think it would have been almost too much with him there and so much of the focus on him. All the cast had their time in the sun and adoration from the fans. It was perfect.

Hi Nicki and Arrow,

It was a once in a lifetime for all of us even the cast.

I so enjoyed meeting both of you and the help you gave us to get to the Press Conference. You saved the day for me. You were meant to be on that street at that time. Loved our convo holding up the Pub bar. It was more fun than being inside the Loft area once I had my time with the cast. You can only say so much to them and then move on.

I do hope you get to the US to see Randy or even Gale perform some day.

And then we meet for dinner or lunch, maybe without the hussle for a change.

Hi Tanya,

I'm not sure which Tanya you are. The one who speaks English or the one who didn't. Either way I enjoyed meeting you both and having dinner together on Thursday. Sorry I didn't make the Amsterdam trip as I very much needed some sleep after the Con and I couldn't have enjoyed it as tired as I was. BTW, my husband was Russian and his parents were born there even though my German friends insisted my last name is German. He would never believe that. He delighted in being Russian.

I do not speak English, and you helped me up when I fell down at the pub. Thank you for caring.
I have your picture with a wonderful dinner in Cologne.

Tanya.
