I haven't watched JCS in about a decade, so for much of this I was like, "Ugh, why white dudes?" and "Mary Magdalene is a POC [and yes I know she's being coded dark, which is problematic, but yay POC] and hot! (how do I not have strong memories of how hot she is from when I first watched this?)"

The end, though, starting around 2:30, I was really struck by lots of quality choices you made pairing lyrics and shots.

I feel like it ends a bit abruptly, but that was the only part that didn't feel clean/skilled/experienced/whatever -- it doesn't feel like it's only your 3rd vid.

Yeah, is very white dude. :/

Thank you for the feedback. You are right that it ends abruptly (like Mark's Gospel amirite?) -- I snipped the song, fearful of it being overlong, and I could have done that a lot more smoothly.

>it doesn't feel like it's only your 3rd vid.

Thank you! That is very nice to hear.

Oh, I love this so much. The pairing of the song and the source would make me think of you immediately even if I didn't know it was yours, of course, but the gorgeous matching of the clips with the lyrics makes it seem like actually, it was inevitable that someone should vid JCS to Ani DiFranco, because it's just too perfect not to. This happens to be my absolute favorite style of vidding, with simple, crisp cuts that are beautifully placed to the music and especially its lyrics, which makes it that much more of a joy for me to watch. The snipped ending is just a touch too abrupt in its execution for me, but it's a minor thing on the whole.

I still hadn't managed to see this staging of JCS and I really need to, because it is incredibly relevant to my interests, so this is a good reminder.

This vid: a portrait of my heart.

Thank you so much! I feel like I can't take credit for song choice because THIS SONG. You can't tell me this song wasn't written about Judas Iscariot.

Luckily, it is my favorite style of vidding too. :)

YES. It really is.
