Perhaps it was just stress and nerves that had caused it not to come. Normally, Zelda didn't think about her monthly cycles and, as such, they were regular. When she was a few days late, she didn't think to worry--it happened from time to time for most women

Leonard returned from the grocery store with a wide grin, Peach romping up to greet him with a happy mewl. "Zelda? You home?"

"Yes," Zelda called out, still mulling over what to say, exactly. "I am in our room."

Leonard poked his head in the room with a soft smile. "Hey beauty...brought you some oranges."

"I appreciate it," Zelda said by way of thanks, coming out to greet Leonard and, of course, the cat. "I will confess, I haven't much appetite."
