[With winter already set in, Sanji figures he might as well acclimate to the cold. That means bundled-up walks through paths he still only half-remembers, in-between his shifts at the restaurant. Seeing Raine on one of these paths is -- well, it takes him a long moment to place that face, and then he's caught off-guard by the very large, green... dog.]

Raine-chan? [he says her name, but his attention is pointed at Noishe]

I'm surprised you haven't seen him already! The bastard loves making new friends.

But yeah, he's still here. If you ever see something that looks like a giant duck racing towards you, you might wanna dodge, Raine-chan.

Well, I'll certainly know what to keep an eye out for. [She gives a soft chuckle at that.] I have a feeling an approach like that may startle Noishe badly.

Can't blame him. But Biri's harmless... [He stops again, and reconsiders his words]

Well. Mostly harmless, when he's not producing lightning.

Is it a natural ability of his?

Sort of. The shitty place he came from has this type of plant that results in a evolutionary upgrade. Animals there are stronger, faster, intelligent, and usually more vicious.

Ah, I see... that truly is quite fascinating. [And reminds her a bit of something else.] Do you know more about it?

Not all the details, unfortunately. Just that the animals were being used to start a takeover back in East Blue.

Someone was controlling them?

Not even that much. [He shifts from foot to foot, keeping the cold out of his limbs]

Remember what I said about the animals being more vicious because of the plant? All Shiki had to do was set them loose, wherever he chose. [He's sure Raine can imagine the damage]

I see...

[Yes. She can imagine the damage. And now she's curious, still.] Was the takeover able to be averted, in the end?
