When I moved out of my apartment, my dad got me the smallest size Uhaul. I got rid of about 1/2 of what I owned coming up here. Shelving units, clothes, bags and bags and bags of junk.

It's very freeing to know how much you can live without.

I don't miss any of it, and I can fit everything I own (which - I've been in apartments for 5 years, so I've got furniture) can fit in a 10 foot Uhaul.

As for service, a good place to start might be a preorganized service org that your church can volunteer with, like Habitat for Humanity. I think if you talk to them, a group from your church may be able to do a house from start to finish. Meals on Wheels is hurting right now because of gas prices. I bet they could use help.

yeah, I've heard from someone about Meals on Wheels. our idea for that is to work from the bottom of the list up... only problem is that for now "service service" will mostly be middle and High school kids just because that's who I'm aiming to get involved but anyone can come. I like the Habitat idea!

As for my stuff I pretty much picked out 10 movies, games and TV shows I wanted to keep, clothes I have a HUGE pile of stuff (I have everything from prob 8th grad to now because it still fits, lol) I'm ok with getting rid of my TV and computer, desk and bed for a simpler life. small bed, desk, laptop (macbookpro?),no tv.
