Bridget Jones style humiliation

Today I am wearing a rather nice summer dress which buttons all the way up the front (kind of like this but tie dyed and with straps instead of a collar), with a kaftan shirt type thing over the top to keep the sun off. I love this dress, but have not always had the figure to carry it off. So this morning I was feeling groovy in my lovely ( Read more... )

Arf! At least it was a female co-worker, so one hopes she was wincing in sympathy... it's the sort of thing that happens to anyone.
I've been wearing a rather nice silk dress to work, (since it's so bloody hot.) One evening I tried it without a bra.. as the bra was always showing. It looked good, until I got home and parked my car, to find I'd popped out entirely.
Luckily no one saw, but I think I'll stick to wearing it with a bra at work, even if the effect is a bit unsightly.

A couple of weeks ago I was wearing one of my summer frocks and half way through the morning was brought up in total embarssment and the need to dash to the loo when one of the girls downstairs calmly annoucned that it would appear that my buttons were done up crooked. Mentally screaming in horror I dashed off to the loo to inspect and sure enough they were all done up wrong - how i managed that when I got dressed I do not know! I then spent nearly 10 minutes trying to get them done up right!!!! The only good thing was that I hadn't been called down to reception that morning to see any clients - what they would have thought doesn't bear thinking about.

Sally - who is very glad that there seems to be a good stiff breaze to bring the tempeture down a bit - I might just be able to get a decent night's sleep tonight!

Your tale reminds me of the time I barged into a colleague's office without knocking and found him with his trousers around his ankles. Luckily he did have some fetching plaid boxers on.

Hope you can find an excuse to work in a 4C room instead of in a lab which, if it's anything like ours, is even hotter than outdoors due to excessive window glass and banks of machines all kicking out heat.
