Very amused to see the BBC correspondent stood outside No. 11 Downing Street in eager anticipation of Alisair Darling, set to emerge any minute brandishing "The Gladstone Bag": The battered old box with the budget speech in it, presumably along with a few bits'n' bobs that he might need during the afternoon (sarnies, spare incontinence pants etc).

Is it only me who thinks that the Brown administration appears far too close to Blackadder Goes Forth? I have images of Brown calling Alistair "Darling" and having many adventures.
