My son habitually does a mildly OCD thing on the beginning of Sept:

Only mildly, because I do similar things myself, but do not center them on a 3 day span once a year. As a polytheistic follower of a harmless Nature Religion, my religion provides me with a template to do this same thing in reference to the Wheel of the Year; I balance forward at the Spring Equinox, balance backward on the Autumnal Equinox, and make new starts on MayDay (as well as parading my tanks and troops in a vast, red review.....ooops, wrong religion)
