I had an interesting experience this morning (about 10 minutes ago actually). I was chatting on MSN with my friend in Gumna, as i do most mornings (i teach a short conversation class to my friend via webcam about 5 mornings a week) when i heard what sounded like an old-school alarm clock going off. Glad to hear it was a false alarm! I haven't had a fire alarm since college. There have been a few minor earthquakes here though. I'm from a place where the ground stays still... so earthquakes usually scare me so much I just run like hell. I guess my list would be...

in backpack:
Passport, bank book, CD wallet, synthesizer, pipe and... tobacco

left arm:
computer tower

right arm:
road bike

And of course, wallet, keys, smokes, and lighter would probably already be on me.

Does your synthesizer fit into your backpack?(O_O) That's a hell of a backpack! (Then again, in an emergency, the laws of geometry fly out the window(^_-) )

Do you keep your road bike in your room? I'm guessing that with such a kick-ass bike, you wanna keep it away from everyone, especially those high school mo-fos

The synthesizer is just a sound module without a keyboard. It's slightly bigger than a computer keyboard, so it would fit in my bag easily. I keep the road bike inside. Not that anyone who shouldn't be here comes up here, but it stays cleaner and the wind doesn't slam it into the railing like my other bike.

Hmmm... I really can't think of anything I would take, other than my laptop and my bag, or purse, whichever I happen to be using, which usually has all forms of ID and stuff in it. I'd take the laptop for the same reason you would. I'd probably also take my photo album. That's about it.

Interesting how generations change. If i asked this question 20 years ago, it would have been the family quilt and some photo albums. Now everyone grabs their PC or laptop first(^_-)
