a new Puppy

After my battle with the Watcher, I waited in the shadows until dusk, when I could check on my favourite spots to catch a bite. The alley behind the Bronze, the park, the cemetery... I could even find a choice morsel sometimes just wandering the streets. Admittedly, that didn't happen often, but it had on occasion ( Read more... )

'It's no fun being the new girl in town.' I stopped and shifted the top of my long flowing skirt slightly, looking down at it and the ground, my hair falling around my face. I knew I looked lost, and goddess, I surely am. 'They told me to meet them back here, right? I thought they did.' Raising my arms from my sides I glanced around as I settled my arms each hand holding on to the opposing elbow. I looked down at the ground again, not really knowing what to do at all. ‘Goddess I’m going to be in trouble if I don’t get home soon.’

"Wonder what I'm supposed to do now." I questioned myself softly, knowing fully that I was pretty lost and since I knew nothing of the town, wondering deeper into places probably wasn't in my best interest. Shifting my gaze upwards I gazed around again, and noticed a girl standing not too far behind me. ‘Maybe she can help?’

I raised one hand in the air, I felt almost like I was raising my hand for a teacher in a class as I tried signaling for her.

“Um, e-excuse me, miss?”

As I watched, she turned and looked right at me, asking my help. She was even prettier than I'd hoped.

I smiled sweetly and came closer, enjoying the invitation.

"Yes?"

I gulped slightly. 'What did I just get myself into?' I let my eyes drop to the ground, my hair falling slightly in my face. It was a game I used to play, pretending I was invisible when I hid behind my hair.

"I-I, um, th-think I-I'm l-lost." I felt slightly ashamed at admitting this, but I knew it was one of the only ways I was about to get home anytime soon. I let my eyes shift back up to look at her, though my face stayed aimed downwards. The feeling she gave off, strong, confidant, forceful. I was slightly intrigued by this, I wanted to know more. Yet at the same time the nagging knowledge of me needing to get home stuck it out, yelling at me to get directions home.

"C-could y-you gi-give me di-directions to, um, easy street?" It was one of the corniest street names ever, but it just happened to be the street that my father had chosen to settle us down on, in our new home in Sunnydale. A slight shy smile slipped over my lips while I waited hoping she would know the way there.

I came closer, feeding off her nervousness and her curiosity. Touching her face gently with my fingertips, I looked into her eyes and asked quietly yet seductively, "Wouldn't you rather come home with me?"
