Kohane's a bit of a psychic, meaning she can generally tell when there's something supernatural about a person--e.g. if they have special powers (and what they are), if they're cursed, if they're spirits, etc. In the xXxHolic world, this also applies to dangerously obsessive habits (e.g. being obsessed with revenge to the point where it's eating up ( Read more... )

Ok, I'm not so great at judging what kinds of things would be unusual about Javert for other characters. Victor Hugo does hint at a slight bit of supernatural inclination in Javert; his mother was a gypsy, and it's implied several times that he's picked up some of her "fortune-telling" prowess. Of course, this is all conjecture and there's no solid fact about it. He could just be extremely perceptive and very good at thinking ahead, so take it as you will. He might have a slight bit of un/subconscious power, but it's mostly left to mystery.

As far as dangerously obsessive habits go... Hm. Javert is a perfectionist, and he was once fully dedicated to upholding the law. Committing suicide showed just how far he was pushed when his ideals were shattered. I'm not sure if this counts or not.

It might be easier if you just talk to me/PM me/IM me/etc whenever the need arises. XD Asking specific questions tends to work out better for things concerning my character.

Sure thing! xD xXxHolic's also pretty vague about Kohane's powers, so...

As for Javert's thing about upholding the law--if he's acknowledged that his views were wrong/that he needs to change/something to that extent/etc. then Kohane might only be able to see traces of it? Her abilities seem to have more with being able to see that a habit is spiraling out of control, and from what I know of Javert, he's gotten past that point.

Traces sound right. He still wrestles with it, but suiciding oneself does get you past that point, doesn't it?

So possibly traces on both counts.

UH Let's see...

Well, Spain is a country. I'm sure she'd be able to tell that?

Break. :|;; You know Break's canon. I don't know; I suppose you could term his obsession with accomplishing his 'goals' to be dangerous, perhaps? I'm not entirely certain. And there's the whole Mad Hatter deal, though he doesn't have the Hatter here. EITHER WAY, you know his canon, so I trust your judgement.

Canas: He uses Elder magic, which is basically dark magic, and he's rather obsessed with his research, but I wouldn't term it a dangerous obsession. Otherwise, he's normal.

If you have any questions, dear, feel free to ping me anytime. <3

She'd definitely be able to tell that there's something strange about him, yes.

Break, let's see... She'd probably notice that he normally has powers that he doesn't have here. I'm not sure if Break's goals count as the same brand of things that she'd see, though.

Of course. <3

You already know what Kohane can see about Danny, but for the record, he's half ghost, and has an extremely frequent tendency to lie.

Since xXxHolic never really tells us what one would see when the obsession's passed, I'll go with that she'll see fading traces. xD

Oh, well, does summoning Susano-O from your brain with a tarot card count as special? Plus considering that his insecurities are the exact reason he has those powers, I'm sure she'd notice his issues, which are elaborated on in his profile meme (or will be when I fix it up proper).
