I know we've all heard musings and complaints about the US Postal Service -- most of which I chose to ignore.

Until just recently.

Because I have been wronged. My postman is an ass and is not getting a 'holiday gift' this year.

We haven't gotten mail for a week and a half! All beacuse out postman thought he'd teach us a lesson. We do not pick ( Read more... )

well you must not have read the entire entry, because I DID get the mail every other day. It was when I was in NY that all this went down.

I say you write the postie a nice "handwritten note" and tell him that as the post office hasn't had news of your mail being held, and that you checked before 10 days, you assume that he is witholding the mail which is a federal offence, and if you don't get it by the next day you'll be calling the police.

My dad's a postie, and while he's had bad experiences before, he usually only holds people's mail at the post office if their dog attacks him. When I lived in North Van I used to let my mail collect for about a month at a time before going to pick it up, and the postie would just cram more in the box ;)

I also think it might have something to do with me living in the ghetto. My sister had a similar experience when she was in a bad neighborhood and we think its cause ppl in the ghetto don't usually take the time to complain and contact the post office. Either way, I need a PO box because this is shit.

you're crazy. you really want to pay for a po box when you can just call the companies and ask how much you owe and pay it over the phone?

yes, I am crazy. you obviously don't read my LJ entries very often or you wouldn't feel the need to make that statement. And the reason I'm considering a PO box goes beyond recent events...I'm not that dumb.

p.o. box is the way to go.
