With her ankle healed and the idea firmly settled in her head, Eden saw no reason not to visit the second island. With how restless she'd been lately, it was a relief even just to have the notion of going somewhere and doing something. Things had been far too quiet lately. Anyway, tons of people had gone over to explore and no one had died or ( Read more... )

Brodie was currently in the middle of an inventory rehaul. Never let it be said that he couldn't be serious about shit, because he was currently on the floor, surrounded by stacks of comics while he inventoried both their condition and date of publication.

He looked up when Eden knocked on the door, issue of Hulk in one hand and ready for filing.

"Alphabetical, absolutely," Eden said decisively. "Much more objective." Smiling, she stepped around to lie at the end of the bed, looking over the edge at his work. There was no reason not to get comfortable. It wasn't like she was leaving then and there. "The collection just keeps growing and growing."

"Objective, schmobjective," Brodie replied. "Take Hulk versus The Thing for example. Just because Stan Lee had pussied out in the crossover and made it a fucking standstill doesn't mean that one of them WOULDN'T win if there was a battle to the death." Frankly, Brodie was partial to the idea that Bruce Banner would win the day.

Still, Brodie filed it in front of an Iron Man volume.

"Yeah. Think one of those building crew guys might do some shelves? You know, the kind that DON'T steal your shit when you turn around for two seconds?"

"Probably. I can't see why they wouldn't. Not like there's a whole lot else to do around here." Eden couldn't get anything decent off the bookshelf these days. Keeping anything on one didn't really concern her as a result. It just kept giving her Austen and things she didn't actually want to read. "Someone has to be bored enough."
