This is in the same vein of something I just posted on a message board in regards to someone stating that the whole healthcare issue is really just a way for Obama to make the U.S. a socialist country.

I said that I hoped, if he is against gov't intervention that he didn't support the Bush administration. How they used illegal wiretapping, suspended habeas corpas, tortured, tried to outlaw abortion and basically tried to suspend our human rights all in the guise of safety after 9-11.

After all, to turn the overused Hitler comparisons back on them. Hitler made up a threat and said that Poland was a threat so he could invade under the guise of "acting first." He suspended their constitution to maintain "safety." He called people who disagreed with him unpatriotic and wanted them silenced. Sound kinda familiar?

The conservative line seems to be that, if government money is going to kill foreigners, it's all-American, but if it's going to save Americans, it's filthy socialism. I don't understand it either.
