"THE END"

Jul 30, 2009 18:50

I just added these 2 words to my manuscript. The first draft of my novel Opaque Window (that's a working title) is complete! Woo! I still haven't decided how to celebrate!

Please tell me you actually wrote, "The End...?" :)

We can do something this weekend if you want to celebrate, I'm all freed up. Congrats btw.

Of course! I wasn't about to finish off a 60,000+ word manuscript without putting "THE END" after it!

nontacitare's staying with us this weekend, and we're planning on going to the Irish Festival Sunday and maybe Saturday. I've only attended briefly to take Heather to a Flogging Molly concert, but it's supposed to be lots of fun. If you'd like to come along I'd love to see you!

P.S.: I assume they have more food than just Irish food (they'd better, damnit!).

I meant the always awesome question mark after THE END, you know, to leave it open for a sequel.

Ah, ok. Sadly, I forgot that bit. Of course, this is just the first draft; I should totally do it for the final submitted one.

Congratulations! That's really cool. Do you have any publishers interested? I never did know. As for the "The End" thing, I remember a movie where it said "The end.....or is it?" So how did you end up celebrating?

Yes, another friend of mine asked if I put a question mark after the end. No, but that always does make it more awesome.

Publishers: it's not to that stage yet. The first draft is very rough; I need to make a lot of revisions, and I just yesterday clarified some important aspects of the story. I am going to Context, a sf/fantasy writing convention, where I'll be doing a workshop on novel revision, as well as a couple of other workshops. Also, two of the women in my writing group have had novels published, and their editor will be there; I'll (hopefully) meet and get some advice from her as well.
