A question for those here. If this place no longer had the experiments and there was a choice between staying here, going back to your world, or even going to the world of another person here, what would you choose ( Read more... )

[He holds up his right arm so it's very obvious through the journal]

A minor altercation with a dragon some time ago. Obviously I lost.

Yes, dragons do exist in my world. They are obviously quite dangerous.

Is there something you left unfinished, or do you just prefer the familiar?

Maybe a little of both.

That makes sense. I think the only ones who would decide otherwise are people who are dead in their worlds or have some attachment here with someone from another world anyhow.

I would leave, of course. This place isn't my home.

Is it anyone's home? I wonder if even those who have been here years have grown to accept this as a home.

Those who can't return because they're dead probably would come to see this place as home--more so if the experimentation didn't exist.

On the other hand, I'm not dead and I have responsibilities, so the answer is pretty clear-cut for me.

But yet we all will die sometime whether it happened before we came or not.

And I do admit, I'd be among those who have nothing to return to.

I would go home, because there is something I must do. But I would be reluctant to leave, especially if it was a one-way trip. I'd hate to part company with a friend who cannot return with me.

Yes, there are some very interesting people here and I can see attachments being formed when one has been here a long time.

Yes, that's very true. I haven't been here for very long compared to some, but it would still be hard to leave behind friends gained.

I have only been here a month, but just watching these devices can give a good impression of what can happen.

If I had a choice and there were no experiments, I'd probably stay or even consider going to the world of someone I have grown close to.
