Character Information

General

Canon Source: Kuroshitsuji (II)

Canon Format: Anime

Character's Name: Luca Macken

Character's Age: 6

Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played.

For a good part of it, because of the time period he lived in and the circumstances of this life ( and his death ), it can be assumed Luca would do fairly well at surviving in a place like Siren’s Port. He knows, to a point, how to survive on his own and obtain food when necessary. He’s mentally resilient, able to survive being treated like trash by the people in the village he grew up in, as well as make a deal with a demon while just a child, knowing it is his own soul on the line and not fearing it.

And for the things he wouldn’t be able to survive or manage on his own, Luca is lucky in the fact that his older brother ( Jim/Alois/whoever ) is in the city. The Mackens survived together in that tiny house on Arachnohill, and the Port will be no different.

What form will your character's NV take?
!

Because he is tiny and it's tiny.

Abilities

Character's Canon Abilities: None.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? Something like the ability to grant small wishes. It's more give and take than anything else, kind of like, "You can have this, in exchange for this."

For example, a person could offhandedly say "I wish I could find my lost cat" and come across it later that day only to find that the cat's collar is missing, or the cat food supply at home has disappeared.

Usually these will be limited to plausible wishes, and mostly small things (no cars, no getting out of the city), but Luca could develop it with time, with the strength of his belief in wishes backing it.

Weapons: None!

History/Personality/Plans/etc.

Character History:

Luca was born in a small village on Arachnohill, the second child and son of the Macken family. His family was poor, and greatly looked down on within the village. (Given the differences in coloration between Luca and his brother Jim, it can be assumed one of their parents was of non-white origin and got with a white spouse, which was greatly looked down on in that time.) However, the small family persisted and life carried on, as difficult as it was. Luca and Jim were very close growing up, born only a few years apart, and best friends. Luca soon came to hero worship his brother, believing with all his heart that Jim could do absolutely anything. And Luca would do anything for him.

The devotion turned out to be their undoing.

Sometime after Luca was four, their parents died, possibly of illness, possibly of something else. Whatever it was, the two brothers were orphaned, and food became hard to obtain. Unable to find work due to age and the village’s dislike of them, the brothers resorted to stealing, be it secretly, or publicly knocking someone down to steal a bag full of medicine and valuables. They survived like this for a while, with Jim much better at it than Luca was. Luca hesitated too much, more reluctant to rob others of their things, and shied away instead of being charming in the way he was supposed to. He spent time worrying about the futures of the people they stole from, including an old man who needed medicine. But Jim just continued to wave these concerns off, reassuring his brother that it didn’t matter since the villagers should all die anyway.

Now, Jim had never been shy about expressing his hate for the villagers to Luca. In fact, Luca heard about it quite a lot. And Luca always listened. Listened and swore that one day he would grant his brother’s wish.

What summoned the demon isn’t known. Maybe it was because of the sheer force of Luca’s desire to make Jim happy, or he found a way to call it down.

What is known is that on a moonlit night, Luca Macken made a deal with the demon Hannah Annafellows. She would grant his brother’s wish, the village’s destruction and annihilation of the people that lived within it, and in return she would eat his soul.

Within days, the order was carried out, and Luca stood at Hannah’s side as the village burned. After everyone had finally died, with the last of his life, Luca thanked the demon for making his brother’s wish come true and finally died.

Point in Canon: Right before Hannah eats his soul.

Character Personality:

Ø Luca Macken’s innocence was never lost.

Because Luca isn’t evil, or cruel. When he wished for the village to be burned down and everyone in it (except for the lady who was nice to him. Luca is a good child and doesn’t hurt nice people), it wasn’t out of hate or malice. It was out of love. An innocent love. A devoted love. The love of a child for his older brother, for his only family, for the one who protected him.

The love of a child is terrible thing when used wrongly.

Luca Macken (is/was/will always be) a good boy, happy and kind-hearted. He’s friendly and trusting and he likes people if they’re nice. If they’re mean, well, he’ll just ignore them or put up with it, because he can’t let himself be defeated by mean people. He’ll deal and survive and keep pushing on, because life is hard, but if you work hard enough and survive long enough, your wishes will come true.

Ø Everything always has been, and will always be, for Brother.

Undying devotion does things to people. Children, especially, are the easiest to influence through this.

When it came to things Luca did, it was always for Brother. Because Brother always did everything for him. It was Brother who got him food, and clothes, and a blanket to sleep under, and protected him from the older boys in the village, and told him stories to help him sleep and so many other things.

And Brother is the one he (will always) love(s) the most.

Stay by my side. Yes, your highness.

Don’t go out alone at night. Yes, your highness.

All the villagers should just die. Yes, your highness. I’ll make your wish come true.

Luca was always thinking of Brother. Because he was all he had, and all that mattered. In a world too big and too small for the both of them, they survived together.

Ø When it all comes down to it, Luca was conditioned.

When you first pull out a canvas, there are a million possibilities of what it could become. You have a complete blank in front of you, and you choose what to decorate it with.

Luca was much like that. He was an empty canvas, just waiting for someone to help form him into what he would be in the future. And the person who could help form that the most was Jim. Jim hated the town, hated the people, and wanted them gone. And Luca wanted it because Jim wanted it. Luca didn’t hate the people in the village, not really. Disliked them at most. But he didn’t want them dead for himself, because Luca didn’t hold any malice towards them like Jim did. Perhaps he was simply used to how they acted, young enough to have been aware of it his whole life, while it had been a change that Jim had to face. Nonetheless, in the face of the villager’s hate and mistreatment, he came out relatively unscathed.

He was taught to depend on Jim. That he was the only person Luca needed ( and vice versa ) and everyone else should just die. That if someone was old and sick, well, too bad, because they were going to die anyway. And Luca listened and learned, and some things he retained. Survival of the fittest, Brother only needs me and I only need him, fairy tales are real and wishes come true.

And it was true because Brother said it, and Brother was never wrong.

Character Plans:

Nothing in particular.

From the first episode he was mentioned, I liked Luca’s character and believed he had a lot of potential to make a good, solid character. However, he wasn’t really expanded on or used as much as I would have liked ( save him being the driving force behind what Alois is doing. He essentially is the cause of Alois’s part in Kuroshitsuji ).

But in the game, I’d like to see how far I can take him as a character, and develop him away to be more than just “Alois’s dead little brother”. Also I want to throw him in school.
