Something I've been thinking about.

This post is sort of being inspired by the tv show 30 Days. For those who haven't heard of it, it's a tv show by Morgan Spurlock, the guy who did Super Size Me. I realize what's going on around the world, but that's not the point I'm making. I also realize that reality TV... in all it's different forms isn't a scholarly source by any means and is more than likely highly dramatized, but it CAN be used to see different points of view and broaden one's horizons instead of staying in the same box that someone is comfortable and familiar with.

So because Atheists aren't being brutally killed by the American Government, it doesn't mean they are being oppressed? Are they not considered people by your standards? Are they less important in your eyes? Is there a scale, or some oppression meter that I'm not aware of? When did doing it at all become OK with society?

I would love to know where you're coming from.

So the idea that the Government won't fund them because they don't believe in a high power is ridiculous. Perhaps "Free Thought" isn't a religion, but Atheism certainly is. If the Government is willing to fund other religious organization, they should fund Atheist organizations. If they won't, then in all fairness they shouldn't fund any of them ( ... )
