“So, have you had you fill of girls schools?” Rei sat down on the shrine steps next to Minako (as gracefully as a queen on her throne, Minako noted).
Minako nodded. “Definitely.” They sat there in silence for a moment before Minako spoke again. “I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused. It’s just… I wanted to try your life, just for one day.”
Rei looked at her. “Why?”
“Because you have everything! You’re smart, elegant, pretty, and everywhere you go you have boys checking out!”
Rei sniffed. “It’s not as if I want boys ‘checking me out.’ And you shouldn’t assume so much about me.”
Minako tilted her head. “What do you mean?”
“I mean that you shouldn’t assume a person has everything just because of a few superficial things. I have things I want.”
“Like what?” Minako asked curiously.
For a moment Rei said nothing, then she looked at Minako. “Like this.” She leaned in and kissed Minako softly on the lips.
Minako jerked back. “The demon! Rei’s been possessed by the demon again!”
Rei scowled. “I have not! I’m in love with you, idiot.”
“W-what?” Minako’s eyes went wide.
Rei turned away. “I should have known you’d react like this,” she said scornfully. But… was that hurt in her voice?
“Rei…” Minako turned Rei’s face towards hers, and kissed her firmly. She grinned widely after she pulled away. “Well, it’s not surprising. I am the beautiful goddess of love, after all.”
Rei glared. “Don’t push your luck.”
