Felix received the summons just after his class adjourned. There weren't very many things that Lord Stephen would want to see him for, and he was fairly sure he hadn't done anything to warrant a personal scolding since the argument he'd had with Robert on Jeudy. It was precisely the effect Ashura wanted. He could not come in demure, with his head bowed and scraping. He had to come in with his spells out, so to speak and let everyone know he had power, appeal, and strength. His eyes cast over those gathered on the dais, pausing to take in the forms of Giancarlo and Felix, though they rested perhaps a bit longer on Felix than they did anyone else. But not long enough to be overly noticeable before his gaze went back to Lord Stephen ( ... )
