Ah, fate. I agree. Fully.

Hello Yuuko. How have you been?

Elaine-san, welcome back. I've been well enough. Did your trip go well?

It went well. Ironed out some kinks that needed fixing. I think I can leave things well alone for quite a while.

I came back to a... leafy Lux. Surprising, but a welcome change in surroundings.

Did you get in some sort of argument, dear?

Is that implied somehow?

No, but the paragraph about hitsuzen seemed kind of non-sequitur, so that was my first thought.

It's just called thinking, Clow. One would think you'd be used to it after all these years.

We make our choices, and our choices have consequences... Is that what you mean?

Exactly, Lyra-chan. My version was far too long for what you managed so concisely, ne~

Sometimes longer explanations help people think about it more clearly, I think... But it boils down to the same thing... Trying to be thoughtful and hopeful.

Haha, or people simply get impatient and leave. Mmn~ there are many ways to say different things and we would be surprised at how many of our "morals" and idioms are really just variations on one thing.

That must be why I'm prone to so much bad luck.

Do you tell your own fortune?

Frequently, and it's always bad.

Hmmn~ I guess there is a reason it's considered bad luck after all. Have you considered stopping or finding another fortune-teller?

Ah, I don't believe we've exchanged names yet; you can call me Yuuko, Ichihara Yuuko.

We had a thing called Yulia's Score, which foretold your destiny, sometimes on a day by day basis. You were read your score on your birthday so you know what you'd do in the future. Frankly, most of our problems revolved around that and the methods some people used to get away from it.

Fortune-telling is an abstract art at best and not to be used too often; doing it by a day by day basis... I can imagine how that kind of rigid structure would be damaging in itself.
