Such a good update! Reading your stuff always gets me so excited about starting my own challenge. My sims have vacationed at Twikkii Island at least a half a dozen times in my game before but I never actually tried to accomplish anything or get any mementos but it looks like so much fun. It seems a bit overwhelming though, especially with this gen in particular.
I was definitely overwhelmed when I first started reading about all the different mementos. But if you think about it, it's all stuff you have your sims do anyway. My island vacationers always dig in the sand, go on tours and eat at the food booth. You just have to be a little more organized for this generation's goals. But I am the queen of organization (seriously, that's what my hubby calls me, lol). So just make a checklist, or use the one I made in the previous post, and it'll be a piece of cake! Organization always makes things a little easier to tackle. *steps down from her soapbox*
So much achieved! I did a similar thing in Generation 8 of my Durrance Legacy; I had a sim whose goal was to get every skill, badge, memory, etc. You can get it all done pretty fast if you work at it and don't let them relax while on vacation. ;D
One warning on the local gestures: they're contagious, for the rest of eternity. Watch out for sims teaching gestures to everyone they know and seeing it spread throughout your town!
Poor Palia didn't relax until the very last night when she got some time to herself in the hot springs. Lol, you're so right that you can get a ton done if you just keep them busy.
I've played quite a bit ahead of this so far, but they haven't passed the gestures on to anyone yet. They don't see a lot of people in the main hood because they're so busy with their jobs, kids, and occasional vacations. So I bet that's why they haven't spread the gestures around at this point. But I have heard it spreads like wildfire!
I've really enjoyed the vacations again. They got a bit boring after awhile, so I stopped taking my sims on them. But now that I'm really exploring each area, it's renewed my interest!
Thanks! It was definitely a lot of fun to play this vacation. This family has taken two or three more at this point, so you'll get to see some more vacation fun soon!
Wow, 13 vacation mementos in one trip, that's not bad at all :) And regarding the vacation locals, Argon's townie brick is the only thing I know of which'll allow you to make vacation locals that'll know the various actions, so it's unfortunate that it doesn't work for you. Can't wait to see the kids from Palia and Turtle, though!
Yeah, I've got to see if there's any mod conflicts that are causing the problem. But I guess it really doesn't matter at this point since she's found her local spouse and I don't think I have to do that again in this challenge. Oh well!
