I love that you love his falling down the stairs. Just adding a little injury to insult, but enough so that it makes you realize how quickly he's been affected by all of this.

Running water in his eyes is probably my favourite thing in the whole piece. He knows he can't fix what he's done, and he's so distraught over the whole thing that he can't even try to fix himself. All he can do is apply a temporaroy bandage in hopes that the whole thing will just blow over eventually. The dish cloth ties into that too, of course. What a ridiculous thing to do, but of course in his life, he doesn't really know how else to deal with the situation. All he has are these childish attempts at ignoring the situation.

(HE CAN'T BE DEAD HE CAN'T BE BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE SURELY ROSENKREUZ HAS A VIAL OF SOMETHING THAT WILL DO IT)Oh, you! Now you've gone and made me want to write the most ridiculous cross over with Harry Potter, where Eszett has them go off and steal the Resurection Stone so Schuldig can bring Crawford back, but in a zombie state of ( ... )

I got too busy at work and didn't have the time to comment on this when I read it, so I'll do it now. :)

I love the way you write about his sinking into this... madness. Yeah, that's really the best description. It's a kind of insanity he's going through, which is just brilliant. Nothing melodramatic, yet you're taking us to a whole other level of grief. His world stops here, it becomes very obvious.

I find it interesting that at the time when you were writing these, I was fixated on listening to the song Through the Element by Noumena, which in my mind somehow fits this; maybe that's just me. XD (I linked to the song in my music rec post earlier today, so you can check it out from there if you're interested.)

Anyway, fantastic stuff as always! :)

Thank you! Yes, madness is really the best term to describe it. His world does end when Crawford dies. Not because he's weepy and sad and thinks of Crawford as his soul mate - but just because he always expected to go first, so he doesn't know how to exist on his own. Crawford was pretty much all he was living for. So when he kills him, it just shuts down his entire sense of self.

I saw your post and I will be checking that stuff out when I get the time to sit down properly with it. :D
