Things making me happy today...

1. We got the scores back for the state standardized test, and my students KICKED BUTT. In fact, out of 91 students, only 8 failed the test -- and 23 went from failing last year to passing this year. Mind you, I've been teaching remedial reading to the "borderline" kids, so this is a pretty big deal. YAY! Only problem is that I basically proved ( Read more... )

I am SO glad about you feeling comfie at the new school. I know that was weighing on you. YAY for good news.

Isn't it funny how living in Texas makes you feel that rain is a Really Good Thing? I too get happy when it rains now.

Wow, that high school sounds like a big change from the setting where you've been teaching in recent years! A challenge, but a good one! Glad you're excited about the change and your new students will be lucky to have you.
