Decorative but really not much use

Alice has been stalking a frog/toad (not sure which) in the garden all afternoon. She looks ever so surprised each time it jumps away from her - can see this going on for some time. She may be beautiful but she's certainly not a good hunter.

You should be grateful for this. Every morning this week I have awoken to a votive offering of rodent spread liberally around the kitchen. I am trying to explain to his gingerness that I prefer them alive and outside.

I completely agree - I really wouldn't like to be find a succession of mangled toads/rodents/birds. I'm just amused by her attempts to catch things...

Get a dog.

My cat now mostly dismembers its kills on the other side of the back gate, where they aren't a problem. And any body parts that do end up in the house are quickly disposed of without me having to do anything at all.

Tam, what happened in the end? Did Alice finally figure it out, or did the frog get bored of the whole thing?

Think the frog got bored - she was still stalking it an hour after I spoke to you, then I lost track...
