I love this weather! Spent most of yesterday in Harpenden, trying to tame Miles' jungle of a garden. We made some progress though it won't last for long, I know. Brought lots of rhubarb home with us.

Ooh, rhubarb crumble - yum! When we used to live with my grandparents, in S on A, there used to be huge rhubarb leaves big enough for sunshades, and i used to pick and eat the rhubarb raw - squinches up my mouth now just to think of it.

Ooh. don't think I could eat it raw but am looking forward to stewing it up. Will probably make some sort of compote so that we can have it with ice cream if it stays this hot...

MMmmm = rhubarb!
I saw some beautiful red rhubarb about a week ago, but hadn't time to buy it - so now, of course, all the available rhubarb is a miserable pinky-green.
Wasn't it Kentwell Open Day on Saturday?
I'm thunking seriously about billeting myself on friends in Colchester some weekend, and coming over by coach.

Miles' rhubarb is nice and red (less so now that it's stewing in the pot though.)
Saturday was an open day and wonderfully hot which is unusual (but we got back to London in time for Doctor Who!)
Do come up this summer. It'd be good to meet you, and I'm sure there would be some people that you'd recognise. Colchester sounds a manageable distance...It's 1588 so we must pray for less rain than last time!

We recognized some people in 1995 - a friend of mine took part for the first time since 1986 and I came to visit her - yes, I'd like to mee t you too.
Does the Wilson Dickson family still take part? He was in the Beaumaris festival two years ago, but we didn't see him.
