First of all I must thank Winkingstar for the nice burst of creative energy that is now making me write in my journal.  She friended me, and I her...and then I read her journal entries about returning to grad school.  A neat woman going for a post grad degree that will have her surrounded by books....a woman after my own heart.

Lady Gray Tea, Irish Breakfast Tea, and plain old Lipton's, all very hot with a dollop of milk, thank you, never sugar. Then the herb and flavoured teas for late afternoon and evening...

I have noticed that dispatch does kind of cower on the days I am using the cane.

And I love you Master. You set the standard for the friends that I met, and meet, on line. Let's not even talk about the writing you taught me, the fandoms that you turned me on to, and sharing that we have, even though we live so many miles apart.

I almost had a job that would have had me training in St L. But no luck. So you'll have to rejoice that you needn't listen to me burble for a while yet - unless you do visit Ireland in which case I would chase you down and murder you if you didn't visit me!!

Enjoy work in the happy knowledge that it's not that much longer now. And look after yourself. Have a look around at organisations that might be able to supply house brownies once a week or so. They might exist and they might even be free or cheap. And it IS worth it.

Friend Kate, come visit anytime, my door is always open...the cats and I love company. I would love to see the warm green hills of Ireland, and sometimes in my dreams I do...but there will be no more long distance traveling for me. So you will have to come here. And you are right, retirement is rushing at me with the speed of a runaway bus.
