So, "Baby Kate"started her first day of pre-K today. Her Montessori school (where Drew used to go) follows our county schedule, but they start 2 days earlier to help ease the little ones into school. She goes 5x a week from 8:45 to 11:45. Is she ready? We think so- we enrolled her in their summer school/camp program and she did a great job. Am I ( Read more... )

What an awesome photo! :-)

I hear only good things about Montessori schools and if I had children I would seriously consider sending them to one.

Thanks- she certainly "brings the cute". We tried Montessori on Andrew when he started having behavior episodes. Ultimately he needed more than they could offer, but the director of the Montessori school (who is also Kate's teacher)had the strength and vision to help us get to the place where we are now. The Montessori system though is nice because different ages are together and one of the responsibilities of the older kids is to teach the younger kids OT (Occupational Therapy) tasks like pouring your own juice rinsing your cup, etc.
