So, first of all, congratulation finishing this monumental task!
It was a quite a ride for many years, and when I first started reading this story, I probably never could have imagined where and when I would be reading the last chapter, nor how it would affect me personally.
It started as almost a dare, simply just to try to find out what all the fuss was about. And while at first I could not say honestly that this story was “my jam” as they say, it quickly grew on me. Thinking on it now, I would have to say the main draw for me was in the side characters. The main pair is, let´s not delude ourselves, quite straightforward. From the first moment the Gunman on the path of revenge steps into Harada´s bar and the soft spoken barman sees him, we all knew where this was going :)
That´s not to say the main dish is not palatable, it´s still at times funny, at time frustrating, and at times both romantic and tragic. But it was the sauce around the meat of the story that drew me the most and kept me glued to chapter after chapter (and after

Yet, returning to the dressing of the story - the side characters. This was for me the most fun, the most interest, and most suspense. I deliberately avoided any historical facts of the period, so I was totally in the dark whether the Silver King would survive to the end, and of he does, in what financial capacity he´ll end up. All in all, I´m glad I didn’t.
I already spoke highly enough about most of the side-cast, but still, Cameron was the largest surprise for me. Harvey´s depth and eventual fate I kind of suspected was my own fault; and Walker with Augusta were always interesting characters to begin with - I always love stories that humanize the one-use, one-dimensional characters that the story needs. It began with (if I remember correctly) the general in the first book, Walker´s superior. He arrived and he could be simply a tool story needed to move in a certain direction, but he had his own head, his own quirks and most importantly, his own judgement. I think this was the first surprise of the story and then it

Yet, there´s not much I can say even after I went through it repeatedly.
I guess I´m still simply too relieved to be done with RW and I do not want to get back to it anymore. Not now at least.
Thank you so much for going through it all with me. Our discussions related to this "Akame gem" were priceless to me. I´m happy and proud that you liked it and stuck with me to the very end.
