Thank you. I needed that right now. My health is worse recently, and it scares me. My amygdala goes to town with its feedback loop, my heart palpitations get worse, and I spend a lot of time in meditations to calm my body. But I neglect the meditations of compassion for my distress.

Talk about my illness, about my fear? I don’t want to push people away; people don’t like a complainer. Worst of all, I judge myself for complaining to myself. Even though I know you’re right. The culture has me so well taught.

The irony is, this is exactly what the book I’m writing is about: balancing the two approaches to fear. The book which is my passion, my life’s work.

So, thanks to you, I made some noise to a friend this past weekend. We had a great talk.

Here’s a book I bet you’d love: Stop Smiling, Start Kvetching: A 5-Step Guide to Creative Complaining, by Barbara Held
