It is, in fact, M'gann's first batch of cookies which have suffered a most unfortunate fate. Despite having mastered the recipe of chocolate chip cookies, M'gann isn't exactly in the right state of mind at the moment, her mind too

[Since it's only roughly been a day since the gossip BBS had gone up, any avoidance M'gann had attempted to do had been lost on Conner. He had been left unsure and confused even of the 'news' about M'gann; they were friends, she had made the cupcakes and baked goodies for everyone and not just him. It was something he had refused to believe... and even now, still he refuses. It just seems too far-fetched despite the 'moments' they had shared in Bialya and in the Cave

[Done with her mixture, M'gann switches utensils from a spatula to two spoons to scoop up just the right amount of cookie dough balls onto the cookie sheet. So concentrated in the process that M'gann didn't notice Connor enter the room despite the 'whoosh' of the door. She had just scooped up a bit of dough, forming it between two spoon when she absentmindedly turns to the door-- it's not until then does she spot Connor and she practically drops everything.

Ohnoohnoohnoohno. This was exactly why she had taken to baking that afternoon, to avoid this! Her eyes wide and unsure for a brief moment, M'gann tries to regain her composure, giving Connor a friendly smile.]

Hi, Connor! I burnt my first batch of cookies again-- kind of reminds me of the first time I baked in the cave, do you remember? When I showed you all the Bioship and everything. I wonder what the rest of the Team could be doing-- it's been weeks since we've last seen them...

[Yes, she was falling into her habit of rambling when nervous. Maybe, just maybe he didn't see

[Conner on the other hand just blinks at her, then furrows his brows and then lifts one when everything seems to ... drop. He immediately picks up on how she rambles and keeps on talking, not stopping, and stays where he is tilting his head.]

I do remember, yes. And I also remember the time after when you covered me in all of your baking ingredients-- are you all right?

[Her smile can't fool him. But if she says she's peachy, he'd believe her.]

Me? Oh, I'm fine! [Thankfully she managed to catch everything before they hit the ground. She deposits the little ball of dough onto the cookie sheet, her back turned to him momentarily.]

I'm just a little sad that I burned the first batch of cookies. I thought I was getting good at making them, but I guess I had a little slip up! Hopefully this next batch will be better.

[While she's trying to get herself back together with the dough on the sheet and turning back to face him, Conner's begun to make his way over. He watches her and then looks to the ball of dough for a moment.]

But you are good.

[hellomgann]

[She blushes from the compliment, her head ducking down a bit when she feels his presence next to her.]

Thanks, Connor. Would you like some cookies when they're done baking? They shouldn't take long.

[She continues to scoop up all the cookie dough into little balls, placing them on the cookie sheet until there's none left.]

[She always feeds him her baking, what's one more time. Although Conner really does secretly enjoy what she makes; the burnt versions she tends to throw out before he can even try one - only Wally's fast enough to get one.

One day, though, he should snatch one burnt cookie up anyways. One day.]

...All right.

[Conner nods and looks away to look around.]

[With her oven mits on, M'gann carefully carries the tray over to the preheated oven. Once it's in, she closes the oven door carefully and takes the mitten off, turning around to look at Connor.

Well, it certainly seems like he hadn't seen the whole thing on the BBS! Which is good-- very good. Her eyes drift over to where the tray of burnt cookies are, and makes her way back over to the counter to dispose of them.]

Are you having a good weekend?

[Conner stands by and watches as she goes about with tossing out the ruined batch. He shrugs a broad shoulder, arms folding over his chest.]

It's like any other.

[hellomgann]

[Once the cookies are in the trash, she goes to the sink to wash her hands.]

Have you finished all your homework?

[genomorphed]

[Not like he has any other choice.]

Yes. The day of.

That's good.

[... okay, and now an awkward silence follows. What to talk about now?]

[Conner's not sure how to feel; he doesn't so much recognize the feelings of embarrassment and uncertainty as he does feeling awkward while standing there, near her, and thinking back on the gossip bbs post.]

[M'gann froze. Oh no, oh no, oh no. He can't be talking about those cupcakes, can he? M'gann inwardly flails as to what she can do-- and eventually, she decides to play dumb.]

What cupcakes...?

[Anything but those cupcakes!]

[M'gann can play dumb all she wants, he will probably go along with it. Maybe.]
