[Action][If there's one good thing about her line of work it's that it makes things like "You just got pulled into a different universe by a magic spell gone rogue" that much more plausible. After all she's already had her mind wiped once by a guy with weird mind powers and she's got a teammate from Mars. What's a little dimension hopping in the ( Read more... )

Are you lost?

[Woah. When did he suddenly get behind you? It's like he has that crazy voodoo appearing and disappearing magic that Robin has. Who knows.] I can help you if you have any questions or comments about this place. Instructor Grayson by the way. You can just call me Dick if you wish though.

[A pause.] By chance did you mention Gotham just now?

I don't want to get in trouble with the janitor for saying crazy ideas like this. [Oh god. He rather not be at the end of anything angry.] I guess so.

It was. [Not exactly. He had some great moments growing up. But Bruce wasn't as super fatherly as her universe is apparently.]

You don't find being in a completely new world is exciting?

Guess leaving a note on it saying that it was done as a favor for you is out then. [She shrugs.] Don't get me wrong, Gotham is home, but it's a nice change.

I bet it was. Gotham's good for exciting sometime. [Right now he's winning mentor of the year, but that's probably not hard to do when your competition is mainly Superman and Green Arrow. Especially when Superman is apparently trying for worst dad of the year instead.]

I'm from Gotham, remember? Weird stuff isn't exactly uncommon.

I'd rather not have that happen. I'm sure the last thing I need is for staff to hate me.

The night life is pretty interesting, that's for sure. [Haha, Dick you're so funny with your double meanings. Dick is trying out for best big brother of the year. I guess mentor of the year is similar.]

Not everyone in Gotham is used to weird things. Haha.

Looks kind of heavy anyway. Seems like it'd be more trouble than it's worth.

Sometimes. That's not really Gotham exclusive though. You just have to know where to look. [She almost goes for that ridiculous "I'm only in high school, I wouldn't know" line, but decides against it. Sounds way too fake.]

Maybe. It's more than most places see anyway, even if it's just from the paper.

I guess the people with special powers have more of a chance in moving it.

It's just easier in Gotham with what goes on back at home. But I'm usually busy with things, so it's not something I usually pay attention to. [Hah. He knows better.]

Metropolis papers are pretty fun to read. But that's if you like reading Superman on your news everyday.

Probably. Be easier for them anyway.

Maybe. [She shrugs a little bit, though there's something she's starting to realize. She's not sure why but...] You a big shot or something? Because you look kind of familiar.

He's kind of fun to read about sometimes, but every day might get kind of old after a while.

[He tilts his head.] I guess you can say that. I'm a son to a wealthy man back at Gotham. Although I hope you don't see me in scandals or anything. I tend to stray away from those type of things when I can, but it's hard when you always should bring an escort along to a dinner party.

I guess so. It's still nice to see someone working hard to keep people safe though.

Maybe that's it. Must have seen you on the news, in a paper, or something like that.

[She'd connect him with a classmate eventually, but right now the fact that he's old certainly does a great job of keeping her from thinking about the scrawny younger guy from school.]

Superman in Metropolis, Batman and Robin in Gotham, there's someone in almost every major city just about.

It wouldn't be surprising. You know how reporters get when they want to get an interesting story. What more interesting then a scandal around a son of a billionaire?

[He laughs a bit. It would definitely be hard to pin the small Dick Grayson to his older self.]

Star City has Green Arrow doesn't it? I guess they keep all their bases covered.

I can think of plenty other things I'd rather read about. No offense. [High society doesn't interest her at all.]

[That's for certain. Talk about different. Though that's probably also partially the whole "different world" thing there.]

That's what they say anyway. [She knows that all too well, considering she works with him. But it's not like she's going to admit to it for no reason.] Have a superhero in every town that sees trouble regularly. It's just common sense.

No offense taken. Most of the reads seem reused anyways. I only read them when I have enough free time, plus I guess I should keep up with news that might end up gossip at the next party. [Except he doesn't really engage in that.]

Yeah. It's nice though. Making things feel a little safer, knowing we got them around.
