[On his way to his next class Conner stops dead in his tracks. There's an odd tingling sensation - and no we're not talking about the whole his spidy-senses are tingling, we're talking about the unfamiliar and very faint sensation of being near another Kryptonian. It's the sensation one gets whenever they feel like they're being watched, the hair on the back of the neck lifts, goose bumps dot the arms even though the being is hardly cold at all. He's experienced it a few times in the past whenever he was around the larger Kyptonian man but Conner never thought back on it, always mistook it for anger and whatever other foreign negative emotion he felt being in Superman's presence ( ... )

[One thing Conner's picking up that's somewhat different and yet not is how this Superman acts. It's really like Conner's stepped into a completely different universe with its very own version of Superman. Hearing the man speak like this and offer to speak more...

Conner stares up at him. There's a small bit of awe in his expression and yet at the same time he's not so sure if he can trust him. What if this Superman turns around and doesn't want to bother like the other? Either way, it's both pleasing and intimidating that this Superman really wants to know him. Him, Conner, a clone born in a containment pod underground in Cadmus.]

Kal-El, last scion of the house of El. Last son of Krypton... at least until now.

[He knows it isn't going to be easy. If being a clone was hard enough, the boy looked so... hesitant, so unsure. He didn't want to say 'scared' but it was close. He wasn't sure how another version of himself could be so careless and cause so much trouble to a little boy...]

[Conner looks at the hand Superman's offering to him. Is he supposed to take it? What does Superman expect him to do? After a moment he looks down at his own hand as he lifts it and then slowly slides it into Kal's. Superman has a much bigger hand than him but Superboy grips it lightly.]

...Conner Kent. Or... Superboy.

Does... that also make me a son of Krypton?

[It has to. In fact Conner never knew Superman had the name Kal-El... he recently just found out through Damian that he was known as Clark Kent. Huh.]

[He shakes Conner's hand, smiling slightly at how he doesn't even seem to know what to do with his hand] You might not have been born in there, but you've my... DNA in you. [It still feels weird to say that, to even think about it... Clark guesses it will never really stop feeling that way.]

You've got Kryptonian in you.

Kryptonian... [Once his hand is released Conner looks at both his own hands. He flexes his fingers and studies the entire girth of his hands as if trying to see the Kryptonian within him.]

The other... you, he never told me this. I had always thought...

[Conner felt like he had known about the Kryptonian being a clone of the Superman but at the same time... he wasn't exactly sure.]
