[action; open; main lobby, on his way to the training center]

[Picking up the latest newsletter was probably one of his biggest mistakes yet - not counting his involvement with Ultimecia years ago of course. Seifer's read through most of the articles and stares down at the bold title of 'War Criminal to Face Possible Retribution: Seifer Almasy Case'. So many thoughts race through his mind, so many emotions ( ( Read more... )

[Squall's hardly in the best of moods himself. One wouldn't have thought it possible, but there's a scowl more ferocious than usual on his face as he marches through Garden towards the elevator. He's seen the paper by now and he doesn't know what to think. What he does know is this entire situation with Seifer is becoming ridiculous.

What's next a knight hunt? He's not inclined to have it.

He's a little caught up in his own thoughts so he doesn't notice Seifer immediately- bump. ...Well this can't be good.]

[What the fuck is the first thing that comes to mind when he hears Champloo speaking and then doesn't feel his fist meet with Squall's face. Instead some guy is stepping in to intercept and ruining this vision-of-red moment between the war criminal and the commander of Balamb Garden.

Seifer goes to irritably shake off Champloo's hand but it looks like he doesn't need to when Squall's already doing it for the both of them. With Squall momentarily distracted that's when Seifer goes to buck his body and try to roll them again, grabbing onto that fucking ridiculous furry collared jacket that Seifer can't stand for some leverage.]

[Sorry boys, but Champloo has a few advantages, such as being calm, or being a demon! As Squall drags at him, he steps into the pull, then plants one hand on the Commander's chest to shove gently but quite powerfully. Then he snaps that arm around to block Seifer's path.]

This course of the meal has ended! It would be rude to chase the servers into the kitchen for seconds when a fresh dish is on the way.

[Quistis had been having a relatively good day. She had completed the mountain of paperwork assigned to her by Cid earlier than expected, and now she was making her way through the Training Center for a much needed training session. With 'Save the Queen' coiled in her hand and taking cautious steps through the jungle foliage in search of a T-Rexaur to go again, it is the faint sound of yelling somewhere deeper within the Center that catches Quistis' attention.

Her brows knit, Quistis chooses to follow the sound; after all, it could be a cadet in need of help. The yelling continues to grow louder as she follows the path, and she's sure that she can make out two distinct voices now-- distinct and familiar. Dread seems to seep into her body and her feet pick up their pace as she shifts into a full out sprint ( ... )

Hey!!

[ Well, you can bet that if Claire had been around, it definitely wouldn't have gotten this far. Since she wasn't, wading into this whole mess just now and sporting a look of extreme displeasure will have to do. Without a hint of hesitation, she just grabs hold of the closest of the two fighters - Squall - and deliberately drags him straight back, in a way that's sure to offer practically no chance at all of him resisting-- especially with how freaking strong she is. Sorry, Commander. ]

[Almost falling over completely at all the commotion going on, Claire's pull is the only thing that keeps Squall up. Instead of fighting back he stops all attempts at anything, but cooperation at Quistis's voice. ...What the hell is he doing?

He's not going to say anything though. ...It's exactly what it looks like. And he's not sorry either ohgod he is such a five year old idne.]

[Squall isn't the only one who's lost in what's suddenly going on. There's shouting - one is a voice he recognizes and the other not so much - and then the commander's weight is lifted and Seifer's left laying on the ground panting with a bloody and bruised and swollen face. They're both probably looking worse for wear right about now...

His nose hurts, a lot. Definitely broken. His entire head hurts; it's like neither of them bothered with throwing jabs at the chest or gut, they just went straight for each other's faces.]

--the hell did you all come from?

[His voice is hoarse from having a screaming match with the commander, but Seifer pushes himself up onto his elbow and then slowly rolls on a wince to get up to his feet, stumbling at the rush of blood to his head and bout of dizziness.

Hope none of you mind a weak glare..! ...as Seifer wipes at the blood on his upper lip on the sleeve of his coat and out comes a string of swearing as he bumps his nosemotherfuc-sonofabit-fuc-]

Your heart has flared up like fat dripping onto charcoal, but such burst of flame only endangers the food you're grilling! Move your ingredients quickly to the side before all is lost!

[It's a sincere warning, for all that it's... well, Champloo.]

[Quistis... isn't entirely sure how to respond to that. She looks at the unfamiliar male for several moments, before finally realizing what she had walked in on and instead turns to Squall and Claire. There's a small nod in Claire's direction, a silent acknowledgement and thanks for handling the Commander, before she turns to face Seifer.]

We're going somewhere where you can explain yourself. [There's obviously no room for question in her tone. At the moment, all she knows is that the best thing to do is to get the two riled up males away from one another.]

[ ... Uh, right.

In any case, despite her hold on Squall remaining firmly in place, it's not him she's particularly worried about. Her eyes are right on Seifer, jumping only briefly to Quistis; with her own history, from what she knows she's not a fan of the young man at all, and she's prepared to take further action at a moment's notice. Hopefully that won't be necessary though, with both Quistis and that other guy stepping in. Especially in front of the small crowd gathered.

And considering Squall has temporarily relieved himself of the right to be listened to in her eyes, turning to Quistis instead seems like the reasonable choice. ]

I think a trip to the headmaster's office is probably in order...

[ She keeps her voice just loud enough to be heard, dangerously even, and pausing just long enough to look again at her impromptu charge, wrinkling her nose slightly at the sight of his bashed-up face. ]

... After getting someone from the infirmary to take a look here.

[Squall's just quiet. He looks at Seifer before almost immediately dropping his gaze. The barest twitch of the corner of his mouth hides a self-derisive smirk. Some Commander.]

...You can let go Instructor. I won't do anything.

[Seifer almost tells Champloo to shut the eff up already and stop comparing them to juicy morsels of meat when he hears that tone in Quistis's words. He shoots her as best of a glare as he can muster in his current state, also sneering as best as he can.]

Great--just like old times again, havin' you as a personal sitter.

[Lucky for Squall, though, that Seifer didn't see that twitch in his lips or he would have tried to knock it off of him.]

[The fact that Quistis has all but silenced this combat just by speaking intrigues him! The best chef knows when to do nothing; better to hold still than risk salmon in the ice cream maker. For now, he will stay close at hand to observe and block if necessary, but let the others speak!]

I wouldn't need to be your 'personal sitter' if you didn't act like a child.

[She takes a step forward to Seifer, her gaze hard and the corners of her lips curled into a stern frown.]

Better hope not, Commander...

[ Volume level? Still quiet, and probably just enough for him to hear this time. She'll let go though, technically, after giving him a short tug in the direction of getting away from here; her hand is kept raised, because frankly, she'll be pretty surprised if he can still see very well. Her focus is just on breaking up this entire thing as soon as possible. ]

[No, not very well at all. But he does look to Quistis for a moment before turning away. He knows she'll handle Seifer. Which just leaves his own end of things. Whatever... that happens to be. What does the Commander do after punching what is technically someone in his care? Too bad the SeeD manual doesn't cover that one.

Touching his swelling cheek he can't help, but smirk on a microscopic level. Even though that sort of hurts, ow. Seifer still hits as hard as ever. He follows Claire.]
