CARNIVAL! (Backdated to last Friday)

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee has been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

[Conner's been pulled aside and told to move to the kissing booth. He understands 'kissing', hell he almost macked M'gann in Bialya until they were interrupted. But now he's stuck at this booth and it feels strange, like he's back in his containment pod back in Cadmus only there's no glass separating him from the world...

He frowns while looking down at the 'counter top' and picks up one of the signs promoting a kiss for 2gil. So people are... paying to kiss him?

Conner's frown deepens. This is ridiculous]

[M'gann is surprised to see Connor of all people manning the kissing booth as she walks past, coming in from the front gate area while taking a break from her own booth. Her cheeks redden and there's a feeling of mortification as she notices the line that's cued up, full of giggly girls who keep throwing Connor glances. Oh no...

She tries to remain out of his line of sight as she dodges around the line and hurries past the booth and back towards the food stalls area.]

[Sharpay is junctioned for strength. Just try and escape her grip as she strongarms M'gann to the booth, deposits her at the head of the queue, and drops a couple of gil on the table. When the giggly girl previously at the front protests, Sharpay silences her with a glare.]

M'gann is taken completely by surprise when she feels someone begin to drag her, and once her initial shock passes she's able to recognize that it's Instructor Evans, of all people. She's confused at first, but when M'gann notices that they're heading straight for the booth, her stomach drops.]

W-what!?

[Ohnononononono. M'gann is bright red now and can't look Connor in the eye. Why, Instructor Evans, why!!!]

[At first Conner had thought he had noticed M'gann somewhere off to the side. Seeing an instructor literally dragging his Martian-in-disguise friend and practically thrusting her to be first in line in front of him and slapping down 2gil onto the booth... Conner can only blink, taken aback, and stare at M'gann. He notices how bright her cheeks are and then he side-eyes Sharpay, his own face feeling strangely warm.

Thankfully he's not blushing like M'gann, but he does feel a bit weird. Anxious. That has to be it, anxiety. M'gann is at a kissing booth that he's manning for the next hour or so. No, this is M'gann we're talking about.

His eyes drop away from M'gann's expression and blush to the 2gil. Conner nods and looks at M'gann again.]

...just like Bialya.

[Sharpay doesn't need to know what this quiet murmur means but it will definitely mean something to M'gann. But Conner's still hesitating, watching his teammate.]

[M'gann certainly knows what Connor's talking about and her cheeks deepen a shade of red.]

Y-yeah... Just like Bialya.

[She lifts her eyes to meet his gaze, but just making eye contact has M'gann feeling flustered all over again and her eyes drop back down to the counter between them.]]

[Sharpay raises an eyebrow at Conner, less interested in Bialya and wanting them to get on with it, then flashes the pair the peace sign and walks off, whistling.]

[Sharpay you keep distracting him! Conner glances at the instructor as she walks away but then looks back down at M'gann. The line up behind her seems to be getting a little impatient.]

...okay. Let's... do this?

[Conner's not sure if he should bring a hand up to her cheek like he did in Bialya, but the same pull as then is there now and he finds himself beginning to lean in.]

Um... okay...

[Oh no, what to do!! M'gann hesitantly begins to lean in...]

[Conner sees her leaning in and feels his heartbeat quicken. Okay okay, stay calm, this is just M'gann. A teammate. A friend. He's going to keep leaning in...]

[Oh no, he's leaning in!!!

M'gann begins to internally panic. He's so close now, mere inches away, when she finally chickens out. Just before their lips meet, M'gann turns her head to instead press her lips against his cheek.

It never specified that it had to be on the lips!]

[That's unexpected! Conner remains where he is and his eyes side glance at her. On the... cheek? What? Then he pulls back, brows lifting.]

That... wasn't so bad?

[Okay maybe he's a little disappointed. Maybe. The feeling is definitely there. First they're interrupted at Bialya and now this? Conner wasn't sure what to expect... But Sharpay's gil is going to the orphans after all... ]

Y-yeah, not so bad.

[The girls behind her are getting impatient though, and M'gann glances over her shoulder before throwing Connor a sheepish smile.]

I should let you get back to the line. Uhm... I'll see you later!

[She's walking off very quickly, now.]

[M'gann doesn't give him the chance to say anything, she's already gone, but Conner watches her go up until the girl next in line loudly clears her throat and impatiently pushes her gil towards him.

Augh. Time to get this over with, and it's such a long line... how and when?]

Did you think it'd be higher?

[ Aerith's been passing by the kissing booths a few times and sees him looking at that sign. Maybe that's not what's bothering him, but it's the first thing that comes to mind. ]

[Conner lifts his head to look at Aerith, genuinely curious.]
