[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor

[Nepeta looked up when she was addressed. Wow she was certainly pretty. She shook her head.]

Eheh, nope no one else is here.

The whole thing is pretty weird, but if there's no way to get back I'm not going to get hung up over it. Especially since someone told me that should I go back, no one will have known I was missing...

[She nodded] I heard that too. It's kinda strange to think about. Like there might be an imposter in my place. [Not that she particularly had much time left, but she had thought about how things might be if circumstances were different.]

That would be terrible--my friends would flip. Where I come from we had a little bit of a... doppelganger problem recently.

You did? If I may ask, what happened?

I'm going to sound completely crazy, but it's the truth... In my world there's an alien race called the skrulls, and they can shapeshift into anything they want. A bunch of them replaced heroes from Earth in an attempt to take it over.

[It did sound pretty crazy, but Nepeta had come to learn that pretty much anything was possible at this point. So instead of seeming put off, she is just further intrigued. Nepeta always like a good story.]

How did you guys stop them?

Well once we could detect them... W--The heroes defeated them the old fashioned way.

How did you learn how to figure them out?

One of the heroes, Reed Richards, came up with a device to detect skrulls. [It's weird, a good weird, to be telling this story to someone who doesn't know it.]
