Instructors Night Out!

Oct 09, 2011 02:13

[With only a day to go before classes started, Gavril thought it would be a good idea for the instructors to get together and try to enjoy themselves before the stress of the start of the school year got to all of them. But more than that, it was a chance for them to all get together and get to better know one another, as there weren't many ( Read more... )

[That frilly drink is enough that Galatea cannot just ignore it. She has to mock him. She try to swipe it, take a quick look at it, and take a drink herself if he doesn't stop her.]

And here I thought you might have been pretending. [But nope, still a lightweight drink.]

[Frilly drinks are badass. Get out. Although he doesn't mind if she drinks any of it. He can just order another drink.]

Pretending? I'm not really into drinking like the other guys, if that's what you mean. [He regrets nothing.]

[How nice of him since that is exactly what she does. And hey the fruity-ness isn't so bad. It's the frilly-ness that's mock-able.]

More like I thought you were pretending to go easy on the hard water. But guess there has to be one responsible guy around.

[Dick is all for the glam and glitz you know.]

I could drink them if I wanted to, but these taste better in my opinion.

Plus, I rather not wake up the next day in someone's room and no recollection of what transpired the night before.

[Some guys just like the attention, huh? His next words make her snort in amusement.]

Sounds like whoever did that would know they had a wild time. [Not that she knows what it's like to ever get that drunk. Tea handles her liquor better than most and doesn't tend to go too overboard.]

Come on, you can't be the kind of guy who doesn't push the limits even a little bit. You don't look like the boring type.

Not particularly on my list of things to do though. [He's never gotten drunk enough to do stupid things like that. He does enough stupid things while sober.]

I push the limits in different ways. I think drinking is more of a spectator sport. [Laughs.]

[Now that catches her interest.]

Really. What kind of ways? [And here she is pulling out a chair to sit down next Mr. Frilly Drink.] Anything involving less than a one-on-one round with the big dinos and I'll be disappointed.

Not drinking. [He's just going to order another drink in the meantime.] I don't usually fight big dinos. Unless you mean the creatures here?

Yeah, them. They look like dinosaurs, so I call them dinosaurs. [Seems easy enough to figure out for her. She leans in a little, elbows on the table.]

Wow me.

Would you believe me if I was more of the peaceful type of guy? [That is such a blatant lie.]

I'm more of a do a few flips, call it a day.

I'd say, "I think I've met a man more boring than Clark." [Ah Clark. She loves teasing him. Too bad he's not around right now. She's been looking for a new target and Dick might just fit the bill.]

Do you spar with anyone around here? [She props her chin in one hand, swirling her shot glass in the other.] I'm starting to wonder why you're not a pencil pusher. Except that you'd lose your nice figure.

I don't think Clark is that boring. [But he also is a complete fanboy so...] But I guess it would also be a lie if I said it.

I spar with Jason sometimes. I guess I do a lot of training by myself though.

[Clark is just Clark to her. Had she known about the Big S under his shirt, she would have acted very differently with him.]

Training by yourself is boring. How do you really know if you're getting stronger is you don't have anyone else to compare it to? I spent years being bored out of my mind because of that.

I'm usually pretty busy. [You know, getting tossed around. Tossing others around. Superhero life is not that glamorous. They're all liars :|] So training is really just to keep myself fit more then anything. If I needed an opponent, well, I don't think it would be that hard. Especially here.

[Tea smirks. Beating up superheroes was pretty fun.]

No, I don't think you have to go looking far at all.

Got some open time next week?

I think I might wait and see how classes go. Maybe in two weeks or so, things should lighten up while everyone settles in.
