Diving back into fic...looking for feedback

Apr 04, 2007 15:22

So I've been re-reading my WIP stories, "Viva Revenge," "The Pensieve" and "The Secret Life of Draco Malfoy," trying to get a handle on how to approach them now. Sadly, it has been about a year since I've worked on any of these. For those of you who followed along and supported my work, I sincerely apologize for letting you down ( Read more... )

I think that you could still post as you go along - only at your LJ and with a note to the readers that updates might be far and few between, and that if they don't want to wait so long between updates, they should just wait until the story is complete and you share it elsewhere ( ... )

Thanks, Ree... hope you'll want to beta for me again. And yes, if I do post I'll make it clear that there could be long breaks. I think that the main thing is for me to just start writing. Even if it's crap. (Though I'll try not to post crap!)

Of course I do. :)

Nothing you'd write would be crap, so you don't have to worry about that. :)

Are you feeling the writing bug?

Cool and thanks... yes, feeling a bit of the bug, though it is like catching lightning in a bottle right now. Feeling really drained today, but I may try and do some writing tonight.

Aye. I think you will get your groove back!

It has just been so long since you have written anything for HP. Over a year, that is a while.

I know people will want to dive back into your stories, you have a faithful following of people who really like you and enjoy your writing, so I think that will not be a problem.
In fact, I think it will be really good.

As far as Dramione and other ships, I have seen a lacking in good stories, or just in stories in general in Dramione.
So I think it will be refreshing for people who have ventured away from it, to see something good out there.

Thanks, Isa--your comments are always appreciated. You know, that was something I wondered. How much interest is there in the ship right now? Though it looks like the recent exchange got a lot of love, so obviously there is still plenty. I need to start reading as well as writing.

I totally understand RL taking precedence. There's no sense writing if you're not into it or rushed. Your readers would notice a difference also. I for one would be willing to wait for a finished product even if it takes a while because I find myself having to reread a lot of stories anyway if it's been a while between chapters. I'd love to see some more of your creative work because besides SunnyJune, you're one of the few writers who does humor well and always makes me smile.

Jeanne:

Thanks for the feedback. Being compared to SunnyJune is praise indeed!

That said, "The Pensieve" probably won't be as humorous :)
