Sigh. The decision has been made to get rid of Vader. Danny and I talked for a long time about it last night, and we decided that although many of the things he does wrong would probably improve, it would take maybe a year to do so, and I can't handle them alone for that long when Danny's gone on trips. So we're taking him to a shelter today ( Read more... )

not enough cat toys for him or you were to busy playing computer games to even care about a poor kitty, you should never get a pet again!

Okay, whoever posted the last comment is 1. Rude and 2. Probably a Troll. Curious, did you try the spray bottle method? Like when he does something wrong you fill a spritzer with water and you squirt him. It works under the theory that he won't necessarily always know it was you showering him in wetness but he'll know 'when I do X, I get nasty water on my fur'
Just a thought. Good luck in making the hard choices.

Thanks for the support. :-/

I tried spraying him with water... he didn't really seem to mind it much, so it wasn't too effective.

Some animals are alot like people. Stubborn. I think you did well when you named him Vader, tho little did you know he'd already given himself over to the darkside. *Hugs* Sorry that you have to give him up...but peace of mind is probably worth it...and he's still kitty-age right? I wouldn't worry tons about shelter issues. People love babies and that includes animal babies. So he's young and will find a new home quickly.

That's so sad! I'm sure Vader will be fine; I agree with the last poster: if he's still a kitten, his chances are a lot better so he'll probably be fine!

PS I was just wandering around and found your site! It's Beautiful!

awww thats so sad, for you and your kitty! I am having my friend take care of my cat because I had to move to a place where I couldn't keep her. I felt really bad for leaving her, but I couldn't take her with me because my best friends family owns a dog. (my cat wouldn't get along with him) Its hard to have to let go of your pets, but this reminds me of my second cat. I adopted a cat from pets mart thinking he would be fine. Turns out he was terrible! Ruining my carpets, terrorizing my first cat, attacking me, and destroying my things. Turns out pets mart just found a stray cat and tried to adopt him out, which I guess is a good cause but I had to get rid of him. He was very wild, I just let him go outside. Felt really bad, but thats all I could do. So I know how you are feeling, but it will be okay. Keep your chin up!
