[Sokka is better. Much better.
Well, certainly better than he was, and he definitely sounds happy, though his treatment from AMU was not the most pleasant.]
SO. You guys.
Guess who has two thumbs and can make this joke again?
[He is definitely pointing at himself with his thumbs. Not that anyone could see that on an audio feed. He ignores

Please tell me you got more than just a thumb attachment. What good is that for?

When you see it, you are going to pass masonry.]
No, no. Hiccup.
It's a real arm.

Uh-huh.
Lemme see it.
[AWAITS YOUR BACKPEDALING.]

It's an awesome scar.
[He's not only pedaling forward, but down a hill...]

... Wait, what.

[Pain associated with attaching it? Naaaaah, he's not gonna talk about that.]
I haven't heard from you. How'd that... thing, go?

[heeey we're not going to talk about this either.]
Uh... It didn't.

[Actually, he hasn't figured out if it's anything more or less than a real arm.]
...wait, what?
[Sokka's turn to say it!]

[GLAUKIR WAS WORRIED ;A;]

[Sokka fumbles for something to say other than something about his undying gratitude.]
The robot guy gave me a new arm. And, uh...
[To tell Glaukir or to not tell Glaukir? ...Oh, wait, Toph told everyone already, hasn't she?]
I got burned by Azula. The robot healed that, too.

[Where all those people died. He pushes the thought out of his head.]
But, the robot thing fixed it!
Reply
AMU? It's good at that. Some other guy fixed mine.

You mean, Glaukir?

Wait, so you lost your entire arm and could just get it replaced? This wouldn't have anything to do with the... uh, the cirus, carnival/whatever they call it, would it? I've heard some nasty things about that.

[Sokka pauses, trying to condense the story in his head.]
Loooong story short, when we tried to get that girl out of the theatre, I lost my arm trying to get Toph-- my friend-- out of there, and... yeah! I got a new one.
[This time it's a little less casually. He's just assuming all the gaps in your knowledge have been filled in by other people, Ed...]

Still, knowledge was better than knowing nothing at all.]
Can you just... ask for a new arm? Or are there certain things you need to do in order to get one?
[Noticing the change in Sokka's tone, Ed takes it to mean that this is obviously something he's still bothered by.]
I've heard nothing but horror stories about that theater - well, to be frank, just about damn "event" on this boat. I-I'm s- [god, he was so bad at this] sorry you had to go through that. I... I did get a few details about what happened.

Actually, I was kind of surprised how easy it was. Toph had told me about the robot-- AMU. She said it could do all sorts of stuff like that. It healed my burns that I got a couple of days ago, too...
But he did it without any kind of pay. I guess it's because we're passengers. I mean, we don't really pay for anything here.
[Sokka, out of lack of better things to do with his pent-up energy, stretches while he listens to Ed. He rubs his neck a little self-consciously before picking up the communicator again.]
Thanks. [You can almost hear the distance in his voice.] It was pretty bad. Really, pretty bad, yeah.
