Canon History: Halloween of 1979 a genius was born; his origins entirely unknown. Whether his parents left him at the hospital after registration, were killed while he was young, or some other tragedy occured is also entirely unknown. However at one time when young something almost seeming as fate caught the attention of a man. The boy was taken in to a place called Wammy's House. This place, founded by Quillish Wammy (later disguised as Watari), was situated in Winchester England. Its building was large and opportune serving as a haven for intellectually gifted children. Children which once arrived seemingly 'dissapeared'. Here L strived as in no other environment quickly taking an interest in the world around him, eyes ever watching. With outstanding reasoning, analytical genius, and strategy it wasn't long before his talents were put to great use. At an age unknown, but well assumed to be young teenaged years this boy, L, was world-reknown as a mastermind detective. His genius could solve any case, and any mystery that might have transpired. Through the world of law enforcement and detectives L was the trump card. That secret weapon unleashed on a case otherwise unsolvable, and he solved them all. Never known by his face, nor his voice, nor his real name, but a letter in Cloister Black Font: L. The letter L was soon known as a symbol of justice. A symbol of legend.
That was until Kira.
As the young prodigy caught word of a man killing in the name of justice L had no choice but to accept the challenge. Within a meeting of the ICPO (International Criminal Police Organization) over the case of Kira, and how to tackle this situation, L's name soon arose as their last and only resort. Little did they know L was already on the case, and Watari, the mediater of all things between L and the world, was present. Not only was this fact, but L had pinpointed Kira's location through information gained sorely on his own. Little time after Japan was taken on as the central investigation area L soon learned not only the specific area of Japan, but his ability. It was within that ability which made this case more difficult than any before, but it was the man behind that ability that made it almost impossible.
In the earlier parts of the investigation L remained faceless as always. In a bold move within the very beginning of the investigation L had deducted not only did Kira live in Japan, but through the media proved he lived in Kantou Japan. He had deducted that he was a student, and furthermore had inside information from Japan's task force. It was in no time deducted that the likely culprite was Cheif Yagami's son. Yagami Light. With each step foreard it seemed that Kira stayed one step ahead. It took little time for Kira to respond to L's advances, and successfully reduce the squad through intimidation and smarts to a bare minimum. In turn, with the Kira investigation squad at such a small proportion it was stated all left within the task force were onehundred percent willing to put their life on the line. With this knowledge L made his first move, a bold and daring move. For the first time L was reveiled.
The case progressed as a battle between intelligence, and views of justice continued. Each moment closer was left with just one clue missing. Each moment he closed in Kira would make a bold new opening. While evidence and deduction pointed to Yagami Light as the main suspect even when seemingly proved otherwise by sacrifice of FBI and other observations L made his second bold move. The perfect defence: he exposed himself to Yagami Light, and even further as shown later on; friended him. Within time it wasn't very long that a new pawn came in to play. This being Amane Misa, a famous Japanese popstar and model. Not only was she world known, but also an big Kira supporter. Furthermore she too had this ability to kill, and she could do it with just a face. However Misa was an easy target, and it was soon deducted there were two Kira's. Misa the second. She was soon taken hostage.
From there things got even more dangerous and stranger. As the investigation lead on, and pressure continued on both the first Kira, L, the police, and even possibly the world, what considered like no where the second Kira developed what seemed like a sudden case of amnesia. After a few weeks of strick containment another strange move occured. Yagami light confessed to the probability of being Kira, and furthermore requested to be locked away. This was concidered a method of proving innocence however after a week in prison containment Light too seemed to change. His personality taking on a complete 360 from what it was just seconds previous. L was forced to manipulate his theory to fit this change, and furthermore weeks later the killings continued. L was forced to free both Light, and Misa. In a final bold move to prove Light was not Kira before he was set free Light proved, for that moment, not guilty. However L's deductions and theories kept him suspicious. As Light wished to help solve this case L requested they be handcuffed together with a chain long to give minimal personal space for constant serveilance. During this time Light and L worked together they friended and became quite close. L realizing that for the first time in his life he had met his equal, dare we even say superior.
During these investigations it was deducted that Kira's 'abilities' could be passed from person to person, and that without a doubt Light and Misa were Kira. While Light and L worked together it wasn't long until Kira's patterns were analysed and deduction lead to a the Yatsuba company. Aquiring professionals from the underground with a lead one of the workers made in a rather stupid accident, Light and L moved in. The end of the chase the head man behind Kira's new identity was discovered and he was cornered. From there things were even worse; the battle was not over. Kira's ability were discovered. It was none other than a death note belonging to a Death God. The notebook itself carried memories of its previous owners, and was passed on request to L. While L held the notebook with just a few moments it was taken into the hands of Yagami Light, and Kira, the real true Kira returned once again. To finalize this, Higuchi, the man behind Kira's third personality was killed by Light.
When the notebook was analyzed a rule forged by Light proved Light and Misa both innocent. This rule suggested that a human must kill within thirteen days of his last kill or else he will die. Even if this proved innocence L still stipulated. This rule needed to be tested, and to test it the notebook needed to be used. However there was something, a misplacement. The knowledge that L could die here at any moment, or that Light was truly Kira proved distressing, and even depressing. Somehow L knew that for the first time in his life he had lost. He simply could not win. Just minutes before L's judgement day he stepped outside to listen to the bells during a downpour. After a brief moment of conversation with the man they headed back inside and dried off where L admitted he was sad. Not long after he received a call stating that testing on the notebook had been agreed on and headed forward. With this news Rem knowing Misa's fate if the test was persued saved Misa's life by Killing L. November 5th 2006 L dies by a heart attack in the arms of Light to his victorious smirk.

Personality: L is a character full of personality. Mysterious, and secretive. You can never quite know what L is really up to. He is naturally egocentric and seemingly aloof and distant. Mind over matter, and eye for an eye. He is exceptionally analytical, and naturally objective. L is meticules in his work, and thorough leaving no stone unturned. Geniusly insightful, and observant as well. L is the honest liar, and the hidden truth. Intellectualy brilliant, his cognative abilities are widely ranged. His knowledge is vast and ever growing. He is exceptionally sharp and quick. L can be very bold, and daring, and willing to do whatever it takes to get things done.
He has also admitted he is childish in nature. This causes L to be very competative, and inquisitive, and full of strange and unique quirks, many in which can be easily aquainted with Autism, and evidently he may also be somewhat of a savant. Within these quirks is his strange way of sitting in which is a crouch. He reasons this by stating that his abilities of deduction will decrease by 40% if he sits otherwise. Also his habbit of handling everything with a strange sort of grace and delicacy. He will never hold anything with more than the first two fingers and the thumb and always by the tip. Even pencils he will write with as if they were caligraphy pens. L also hates socks, only wearing them when absolutely nessisary and even than its usually just shoes. Furthermore he eats a lot of sweets, and tends to stack them. L enjoys foremost cake, and baked sweets, cookies and icecream, but also likes strawberries, and melon and other sweet fresh fruit. For drinks he enjoys coffee, and tea's with lots of sugar. He reasons this with claiming hat the brain uses the most calories and thus why he is still underweight even if eating so much candy and sweets. You could also probably blame insomnia as its rare that L will sleep. Especially when on a case.
Backtracking, this childishness as L's own self accusation was brought to light by stating he is a sore looser, and this fact shows in the extent in which he will interrogate and go to towards something he is persuing. Edgy in strategy and sometimes even bordering dangerous in movements, dare we even say bordering the line of moral. His methods have even in rare occasion been called dirty. Digging further you could almost say he shows tendencies to dab line of sadistic. All things come with a dark side. He is untrusting and distant. Emotionally vulnerable and weary. Sometimes seen as cruel with high expectation. Egotistical, stubborn, and to his causes can be ruthless. Over the time spent watching the world crumble in the hands of something beyond his control L has a good amount of repressed anger. Emotionally he's a little unstable even if he doesn't show it all too often.
Appearance: A figure that stands if straitened upright to be 5'9” and weighs merely 110LB, however his slouch puts him normally at a lower height of around 5'5”. L has very smooth pale skin; soft and flawless and almost white to the lack of sunlight. His most defining feature would be his wide heavily dialated eyes deep blue eyes with heavy black rings underneath and slightly above due to life long chronic insomnia. They seem constantly alert and motionless. Never a word spoken from them. Atop a slender cut face is thick black velvet hair down to the back of his neck. Rarely ever combed and often laying in a natural mess parted on the right side with a few locks shifting over his eyes and. In build L is very limber and willowy and while clearly underweight his muscles are nicely toned. Slender well shaped long arms and delicate fingers. Well constructed chest, supple torso and long legs connect to smooth high arched feet and long prehensile toes.

Strengths: L has an extraordinarily brilliant mind. Within his world he was the greatest detective ever known to mankind. At least until Kira came along. L has incredible reasoning and deduction abilities known to be flexible in concepts and theories but always driving through with hard evidence and facts. His logic is strong and stylized uniquely. He picks up on the tiniest observations many people would miss out or dismiss and is capable of holding vast amounts of knowledge whether big or small. His IQ is in the range of over 200 something previously unknown. His intelligence and abilities were so great it inspired the creation of a housing for orphaned children seen as possible successors. However his talents and abilities do not just stop in the acedemic feild. Surprisingly while his structure seems supple and fragile he is quite strong and capable of self defence. He is sufficient in the Capoeira, a genius champion in chess, and tennis. He is also an incredible liar.
Weaknesses: L's personality has a dark side and while often these traits can be beneficial they can also be his downfall. L is very stubborn and very egotistical. He will ruthlessly believe in something if he so believes in it and until every last option and method has been extracted and applied he will absolutely not give up on his deduction or his theory.
