Look at the future and see what happens if I push it.

Back home. Being here took that away from me.

Oh, I see...Well, that raises a question for me; if you look into the future to see what happens if you push it, and it turns out to do something that would mean you wouldn't push it, where does the future you saw come from? Because obviously, you wouldn't push the button.

Why would there be a path I've seen, but never walked down?

For any reason that fits your mannerisms.

[Yeah. That's all.]

Oh? In that case, I'd push the button.

With no hesitance?

...I think I'd push it. I'd probably do something bad, but you won't learn anything about it if you just walk away from it.

But the consequences could be far worse than 'something bad.' What if, say, you were dropped into a pit of spikes?

Well, I'd have no idea about that until I hit the button, so I really can't answer that. It could be a pit of spikes, or it could be something amazing. I'd like to think I'd be cautious, but... I know curiosity always gets the best of me.

Well, that's what it all comes down to. If your desire to see a reward is stronger than your desire to escape punishment.
