Apr 29, 2009 15:41

NAME: Lionel Darcy
ALIAS: Lio
GENDER: Male
BIRTHDAY/SIGN: February 4th//Aquarius
BLOOD TYPE: B
AGE: 17
OCCUPATION: Junior in high school//works part time at a computer repair shop

APPEARANCE: Just two or three inches taller than his sister, Lio tends to stand with a hunch of his shoulders during school, making him appear closer to her height. His eyes are constantly lowered and staring down at his feet when in the company of other people, but when he’s alone with Lia, he’ll look up and carry himself proudly, especially when outside in the central district of the city. Like Liala, his features are a bit androgynous, but the added height and the slight roughness that has started appearing in his face as of late defines the two siblings. His eyes are heavy-lidded; the left one is green while the right one is a rich blue. His dirty blonde hair is cut short, the rough-cut, feathery layers hugging close to his head.

Like Liala, he prefers to wear large sweatshirts, some of which were hand-me-downs from either Rhys or his father. Clothes that fit him well are just a little too big on his sister, but they both don’t mind; because of this, he normally looks better-dressed than she does. He has a pair of goggles that hang around his neck or are nestled in his hair. They are used for when he works with computers, having a bunch of information stored in them. The lenses have a faint green tinge, and the frames are a dark silver-black.

LIKES: Liala, computers, spicy food, programming, hacking, taking a risk when he knows he has a safety-net, chocolate milk, loud music
DISLIKES: Rhys, ALICE, challenging things face-on/without knowing details, classical music
PERSONALITY: Much like Lia, he is withdrawn and prefers not to interact with people directly. It’s easier to remember him simply because he’s so good with computers, but other than that, nothing about him really stands out when first looking at him. However, when it comes to anything regarding computers, his knowledge comes out and he starts too act a little cocky, which is another way that people remember him. Between the two of them, he does most of the talking (which still isn’t that much, especially while at school).

While around other people, even their own brother, Lionel is very protective of Liala. He’s very wary of anyone that approaches them, and even more wary if they try to talk to her. No matter how many times she tells him that it’s okay or that he can calm down, he still has to take the advice into practice. He’s also extremely devoted to his sister, and it pains him to see her when her attitude starts to shift and she’s in pain. He considers Rhys his rival in protecting and taking care of Liala, which is why he does his best in his job in order to ensure she’s well taken care of. So far, Rhys has allowed them to continue living on their own, and Lio’s begun to form a grudging sort of respect or appreciation for him.

HISTORY: Lionel is the second child of the Darcy family, being born several hours before his twin sister, Liala. He was healthy from the get-go, and his slightly paranoid grandmother used to accuse him of stealing Liala’s strength while in the room (though never while around the rest of the family). Because of this accusation, he began to take on a very devoted role to helping raise his sister, which the parents were grateful for because it meant they could go back to work sooner.

At first, Lio was a little wary of Rhys’ involvement with raising Lia, but he gave in after awhile because Rhys was older and more responsible. He often felt really guilty that he couldn’t play outside with his sister, and so tried to start staying with her inside more and discovered his love for computers. A habit which suited Rhys just fine, because he could watch over the twins at the same time, or leave them under the care of the grandmother until she passed away when they were eight. And two months after the twins turned ten, their parents passed away in an accident. He thought it was foolish for Rhys to pull out of high school, quite convinced that at ten years old he could take care of both Lia and himself.

Lionel and Rhys began to argue more, mostly because of the boy’s desire to start a childish spat. He didn’t like seeing his twin being babied over by their older brother, who was even more protective now that he was in charge. Lionel started sticking closer to his twin, keeping her company more than he had before. At school, he pushed away other students so soon the two of them became isolated in the public sphere. When Liala ran away when they were twelve, Lionel was in a panic. Of course, he automatically blamed Rhys, who wasn’t home at the time, and set off on his own to try and find his sister.

He found her in the Deadlands, playing amongst some abandoned buildings. Lio tried to convince her to come back, and when she was climbing down to join him, she slipped and fell. Panicking and unsure how to handle the situation, he was almost relieved that Rhys showed up when he did. That relief quickly faded, though, once his older brother started blaming him for everything. The paramedics from the nearby Eminence came and took Liala to ALICE, where she was kept for several months and hardly allowed any visitors. In the mean time, Lionel and Rhys found a small apartment and began to start their lives over again. They didn’t dare to leave Eminence during the time that Liala was in the hospital. After she was released, the twins started their 8th grade year in middle school, and moved into their own apartment not too far away once they started sophomore year in high school.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Insanely good when it comes with working with computers, and can hack into many different programs and locations.

OTHER: Because of the twin connection with Liala, he’s very close to her. However, it sometimes seems to cross over the simple twin relationship, which worries Rhys.
