That had been...wrong.

Neji didn't know if it was the girl that had attracted what had seemed to be the entire heavenly host or if it was just the fact that he and Naruto's combined energy had attracted them, but either way, he was glad to have broken from the group. Naruto had been overly pleased about seeing everyone---Neji, less so. He felt out of his element enough as it was, but to have to face that under the knowing gaze of other angels was irritating and he wouldn't do it. It made him tired. Maybe it was just the long day ( ... )

It's not that he disliked festivals. In all actuality, it made his job as a demon [you know, that whole 'bring them to damnation' spiel] rather easy. People were more open to contact, not to mention a variety of other things. One of which had gotten him into his current mess.

Sasuke hated being pursued. Wait. That's not entirely true. He hated being pursued by what he tended to term one time deals. Having acquired what he wanted [a lovely little letter guaranteeing him complete access to the governments latest little weapons project], he had no further need to continue contact with the girl - who, as he had judged rather correctly, was one of those clingy, love-me-now-and-forever types [all of which had ultimately lead to a rather begrudging fuck].

He was done. She wasn't.

Unfortunately for her, what he was was well beyond her. With a roll of his eyes and puff of smoke blacker than the dead of night, he disappeared.

Only to reappear at the edge of the river where he was immediately assaulted by the presence of one of them. Lips ( ... )

Neji's body even didn't even bother with the reflex of tensing. It was as if those days spent at Sasuke's apartment had acclimated him to the demon's presence so well that aside from the soft wave of otherness that came with Sasuke's arrival, there was nothing but the cool sensation of familiarity. Neji let out a breath of irritation at that thought, that he could once again be familiar with Sasuke (or, had he ever lost that familiarity?) so easily. It was as if the human form was betraying him, though Neji wasn't entirely sure that it was just the body. After all, he made no move to leave.

"Only." Neji echoed, eyes sweeping from the water to carefully take Sasuke in, his voice almost questioning though holding a strange sense of candidness to it. Last he had spoken to Sasuke, the other had seemed rather irritated at him. Sometimes Neji thought about what he'd said and felt a choking sensation around his neck, the invisible device wrapped around thin and delicate as spider's thread but stronger than steel. Mostly, he just ( ... )

"Not particularly," Sasuke replied evenly. He wasn't, really. There were worse people he could have found himself confronted with, and though Neji wasn't the ultimate person he wanted to face, he was almost as good.

Almost. If only there wasn't that devastating reminder that Neji was no longer living his apartment, that their last real meeting had been spent on embittered words born of anger [frustration] and the proverbial door slamming in the face of his want. Sasuke could feel a frown threatening to deep dive on his lips, but he was quick to control the impulse. Instead there was only the slightest hint of a smirk and a flash of black in his eyes ( ... )

The fireworks kept blasting and blasting just illuminating the sky with serene colors. Naruto couldn’t manage to keep his eyes off them for longer than a few moments. To see the colors dancing so far up like that made him long for him realm and wondered what they looked like from up there ( ... )

Itachi never liked crowds.

It was more of a 'never going to happen' thing, rather than a 'oh, maybe someday'. The Fallen Seraphim was rather will adjusted to the darken rooms of their Black Market trading routes, prefering to walk in the shadows than in the open. It felt too exposed. Too out there. He felt watched, by that fool above their heads, sit sitting there and creating the most unuseful things.

But alas, He was not there anymore, was he? Oh no, of course not.

Now there were little angels running around freely, up for grabs. It was then that the grain of sands truly began to move forward, never once more halting. NeverHe flicked a skewer to the side, crimson eyes dangerously lit and omnious in the dark. The wheels whirled occasionally, but it stilled each time some curious human flickered their attention towards him. Itachi never felt the need to turn off his Sharigan anymore; his regular eyes were a burden, just like his useless angel wings ( ... )

Jagged sudden pain. It erupted up his spine and felt like an explosion inside him. Naruto cried out as he nearly fell over and instantly tried to turn his head to see where the pain had come from-- where it was-- what--

Naruto cried out again.

Kyuubi seemed oddly amused although the demon seemed to shift and flickered a flow of dark power. White feathers flooded into black as Kyuubi seemed to have an instinct to protect itself no matter the threat.

“Fallen Seraphim.”

Naruto’s eyes widened as the voice erupted from his mouth unwillingly. He felt his cheek scars thicken and his eyes burn. The trigger of the pain underneath his wing seemed to startle Kyuubi.

When Naruto managed to turn his head he swore he thought he saw Sasuke behind him. In a moment of surprise the image faded into someon...else. Naruto growled bitterly and tore away from the demon and turned, his eyes narrowed. “Who are you!?” He screamed. The blond could already feel his wound healing.

Itachi smirked. This Kyuubie vessel was turning out to be much more than he anticipated ( ... )
