In order to fully understand the nature of hardcore, one must be able to comprehend that hardcore is not real. Hardcore means what you want it to mean. In lamens terms, it literally means "Hard to the core", which is a representation of having a hard heart or soul.

Hardcore to me is doing something really, really crazy that I probably would never do in my life. Whether it's kickflipping a 30 stair, going more than 50 MPH in my car, or breaking a building with my head.

Now, if you've ever heard the "hardcore" version of techno, you can see why it is hardcore. The pounding, distorted bass drum and low toned yet powerful bass really defines it. In a nutshell, it sounds like "BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU BAU B-B-BAU". Now, when adding the "happy" to "hardcore", you are left with a fast and annoying beat with happy lines played over it.

That's just my two cents.
