Summary: High School AU. Brendon has been exiled by his parents, thousands of miles away from everything he cares about, to a little place called Chicago. Tom has just broken up with his girlfriend, again. They’re both less than sober at a party and looking to make a mistake.
Neither expected to see the other in the harsh light of day, least of all while wearing an apron. The two try to maintain their new friendship as they navigate their way through Home Ec, a little bit of B&E, ex-girlfriends and boyfriends, and the Prom.
Notes: Title (as well as the inspiration for one particular scene) from the song of the same name by Miniature Tigers. The timeline in this is a little bit wonky; ages have been changed and some dates have been blatantly ignored in order to get Tom, Jon and Brendon all in high school at the same time.
