[ The ever familiar New Bark Town can be seen in the background when the feed starts, though the only signs of a person using the 'Gear is a shoulder and the corner of a hat. The image wobbles a little, and the scenery is obviously moving as whoever this poor, poor newbie is makes their way towards Route 29.You know, I don't think I've ever seen ( Read more... )

[For a long time, you just get this expression, staring at you.]

[Eventually, France offers a hesistant -]

Is that you, Napoléon?

[ Why are you making that face at him, strange man? Napoleon stares back, still getting used to the 'Gear and probably just as confused. Until, of course-- ]

[ Er. Not sure if he means him or his original, but Napoleon goes with it either way. ]

In a way, I guess you could say.

[ Something about this guy seems awfully familiar (especially with that tacky outfit), and it bothers him. He's not going to jump to conclusions, though. While France might recognize him right off the bat, the Netherlands never knew the original personally. ]

There's no exit.

It figures.

[ Look at my enthusiasm, Netherlands. Isn't it overwhelming? ]

It's always nice to hope, anyways.

[ The outfit is not tacky, though. Napoleon made it himself, damnit, and he worked hard on it when he wasn't going through a refresher course on his original. ]

Some people go home, but not by choice. Whatever brought us here kicks 'em out, or something.

[ Shut up it's totally tacky. :| It was modern and cool in the 1800s. ]

Have we met before?

Hopefully it kicks me out sooner than later. No offense, Joséphine.

[ Earns a nyaa from the lump of kitty under his hat. And you shut up, jerk. It is an awesome outfit that barely got any weartime back home. :T ]

Not that I'm aware of. [ Suddenly WARY! Does this mean he's met the other-him? Can he be trusted? ] Didn't really get out much before I woke up here.

[Have a Lion. The town in the background is clearly not New Bark.] Hello and... I don't think "welcome" is a good way to put it...?

Unfortunately there seems to be no way out, at least not by your own will, but I've been told that people spontaneously leave Johto just as they appear.

Maybe going back to your home just depends on chance?

[ Excuse Napoleon as he looks at you for a moment, Lion. Like most people, but at least it can be assumed he's processing this information instead of trying to figure out what gender you are. ]

I suppose a "nice to meet you, even under these circumstances" is good enough. I wouldn't want to welcome anyone to a place where they're going to be indefinitely stuck.

Well, I guess I can cross my fingers.

[Well, that's a nice change.] Nice to meet you, even under these circumstances, then, my name is Lion.

On the good side, most people here are friendly so your time trapped in Johto won't be that bad of a thing... There are also plenty of things to do if you decide to dedicate yourself to the pokémon.

[ He probably goes to school with a couple traps. The clones of Rasputin and Himiko look an awfully lot alike, after all. He tips his hat politely in greeting. ] Likewise, Lion. I'm Napoleon.

So far I've only talked to a couple people, but I think you're right. I'm just worried about things back home. [ Shrugs. ] If I wasn't, this would be pretty exciting and I'd be all over an 'adventure.'

Hi!

[Takes a deep breath and puts on splainy face]

Unfortunately we're stuck here. I don't know by what creepy voodoo magic, but we're stuck. Basically the whole idea of this place is to take the creature you got and battle and make it grow levels and stuff so it gets stronger and evolves. And you can collect gym badges by leaders in certain citys.

So what kind of Poekee did you get, huh!?

...

[ Have a stare, Yuffie. Then he gives you a thumbs up. ]

Excellent, hi. That was a better explanation than I expected. I guess I'll just... keep heading for the next town then, and hopefully get out of this weather.

[ He glances up at that question, tipping his hat back to reveal the Meowth on his head. ]

The thing says she's a Meowth, but I named her Joséphine.

[Satisfied smile. She has done her job then.o7]

People kinda just show up like once a week, so explanations get tossed around a lot. Heading for the next town is really all you can do at this point. There is nothing in New Bark. The place is a tooootal drag.

Aww. I usully think Meowth's are kinda weird, but Joséphine is a pretty name. Hee!

Yeah I noticed that after I was kicked out of the house I woke up in. Everybody just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Not much there, in help or entertainment.

[ Joséphine meows at Yuffie, moving forward on Napoleon's head and pushing down his bangs to get a better look while obstructing his view. ]

Ah-- thanks. It was either that or Marie Louise, but I have a friend named Marie and that would have been weird.

Most people would recognize it from the painting The Emperor Napoleon in His Study at the Tuileries, painted by Jacques-Louis David in 1812. It was only one of many uniforms that Napoléon Bonaparte wore, many of them fairly similar in appearance.

[ He pans the camera over his outfit to give Yukari a better view. ]

Made it myself.
