school;
nap;
yell at ag_sasami about XMFC;
rinse, repeat.
And so, I present. Love or Fear of the Cold by ag_sasami and written for ME. If you have any interest in XMFC or Erik/Charles, you should most definitely read this. Did I mention it was written for me??
Relatedly, I was telling ag_sasami about the regency au of my soul, and:
Erik becomes the eighth Duke of Notham shortly after his twenty-ninth birthday. It's not unexpected, exactly, but certainly unwelcome. His father had been sick many years and his parents had never managed to produce a spare after his own birth. "Lucky on the first try," his mother would say when he was little, brushing the hair back off his forehead.
She had been far more affectionate than Erik knows mothers were supposed to be. Tucking him into bed each night or pressing kisses to his forehead, Erik had learned at Eton was entirely unnatural behavior for society mothers. When he received the letter bearing news of her death, completely unexpected, all of the metal at Eton shifted two feet to the left.
and then more about Charles being charming and how much the society mamas love him despite his eccentricities. And obvs, Erik is the mysterious outcast. It's entirely possible that I read too many romances, okay.
