Since I can now speak ill of the Fair Folk - excuse me, those swindling lying soul-stealing disgraces to merchantdom - it is clear to me that they have at some recent point, in some way, harmed someone, as they are apt to do, seeing as how they subsist by eating souls.

Who's going to help me kick some fairy ass?

unfair folk, definitely the solar you're looking for

[Manly shriek of utmost dismay.]

They eat souls?!

Yes and I would have made it more abundantly clear but I was busy being cursed now how much iron do you have?

Geez, and I thought Ahriman's grabby hands were bad. Pretty sure he never ate any of the souls he snatched.

I have uh... sword? My sword? Why?

Switch it out for a piece of iron for a while. It's the only weakness they have that we can exploit.

...Whose souls did they eat?

I don't know. Perhaps they haven't eaten anyone's souls yet. But they have clearly broken their side of the oath, since I can speak the truth of them again.

What...happens, when a person gets their soul...eaten?

Quite the turn about of opinion.

I thought their enchantments might be broken at frost's first fall, but...I was not aware additional measures were in place.

No, the opinion's always been mine. Break of a curse is more like it.

They're weak to iron.

Powerful spellwork.

...Then I will send you Lexaeus. He should prove formidable against them.

... what?

[He clearly does not want to believe you, Ashoka. But. But, you KNOW THINGS.]

Rion.

[He sighs before phrasing his words.]

We are animals to them. We amuse them, but they tire of amusement so quickly.

The gifts of the Fair Folk are wonderous. But wonderful is not always kind. And a gift cannot be given out of the goodness of the heart when the giver does not have a heart to begin with.

Gather iron. It is the only thing we can wield that they are weak to.
