Donna has been very patient, she thinks, with people not telling her what the bloody hell is going on, on the whole. She hasn't bugged Gwen (too much) when she's on the TARDIS. ( ... )
The Doctor's first instinct, before conscious thought gets in the way, is to shove away the touch on his mind - he doesn't care who it is, he doesn't want anyone there now, not knowing what they'll feel or see... and then surprise gets the better of him, and he pauses.
:: Donna? :: Since when was she able to reach him from this far away?
Relief washes over Donna, so powerfully she almost loses that connection - but she holds on, and forces it over the connection rather than through. Here, Doctor. Have a gander at how worried she was that you might be dead or something.
:: Been worried about you. Gwen wouldn't tell me anything. Where are you? ::
She's poking into his head for the information, nosy as ever, and is a bit perturbed by the doors he has locked.
:: I'm not you dumbo. TARDIS wouldn't let me out even if I wanted to, but I'm respecting the fact that both you AND Gwen would flip out if I did. I just want to know what's going on. ::
The panic doesn't bode well, but she just sort of dumps the past however-long she's been in the TARDIS over to him. Pacing, worry, forcing herself to be patient, looking after Maria.

Have some pity, Doctor. She's worried.
